It wasn't a real meteor. He did not pull it from hundreds of thousands of miles away in an instant towards the planet. He created it inside the planets atmosphere, and it would never destroy the planet.
Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
I already posted something on this, scan though my posts.
Objects from space will not destroy the earth unless there the same size, the most damage a meteor would do to Earth is make earth go to a nuceular winter, and would leave a decent sized crater couple miles long and deep.
this. besides if the object was that big chances are we'd orbit it or it would orbit the sun on its own.
