[Discussion] Madara Didn't help Itachi?

I dont know if someone has brought this up yet, i havn't been on for a while so i will post this.

Well i have just read the latest chapter and i came across something i found interesting on what Itachi has said.

Saying to himself 'god-damn you madara you knew'

We all know that Itachi told Sasuke that Madara had helped him with the Uchiha Massacre, but it seems in the latest chapter he was shocked that Madara knew what Itachi had done.

Itachi tells Sasuke about Madara chapter.

maybe itachi thought that tobi didnt know the real REASON of killing his own clan

Yeah I noticed that as well, but I think he was more referring to wanting Sasuke to become the hero of the leaf by taking him down... Itachi's goal.

I was wondering if that is what he meant as well, but they were still on the subject with Itachi's secret mission.

I think he was talking about Itachi being a double agent. Tobi wasn't suppose to know I guess.

Ya this topic was brought up at least once already. The manga made it very obvious for a long time that Itachi did not actually tell Madara everything in regard to that night. It was assumed that Itachi lied to Madara about the reason for killing the Uchiha and it was made clear that Itachi did not actually think that Madara knew the truth about the massacre being a mission. We do know for a fact that Itachi did not trust Madara and put insurance in both Sasuke and Naruto to stop Tobi and Sasuke if, on the off chance, Madara did know the truth. These being the Amaterasu he implanted in Sasuke and the 'gift' he gave Naruto.

The only thing that is some-what surprising is the the fact that Itachi seemed very, very surprised that Madara had known all along. It seemed to me that Itachi took all those precautions believing they'd likely have to be used at some point. But judging by his surprise on the matter, he probably thought that the chances were small that Madara knew and he was really hoping that Sasuke would abide by his wishes, which was not to be.
