Ok, let's get this straight.
The Totsuka blade is an ethereal blade that has no physical form. It is not made of anything but the chakra used to maintain Susano'o. don't deny this, Susano'o is pure chakra and the Totsuka blade is EXTREMELY similar in appearance and it is summoned with Susano'o, thus it is chakra in it's 'Purest' form.

The Totsuka Sword

It is a type of Kusanagi Sword, equipped with the power to throw the person it stabs into a genjutsu world of drunken dreams, sealing them for all eternity. The sword itself carries a fūinjutsu.

This shows that it's not the sword itself that seals, but the Fuinjutsu embedded into the sword. All jutsu, even sealing jutsu are chakra manipulated by the user ( In this case whomever placed the seal on the sword ).

Now, what jutsu counters any and all chakra based attacks?

I believe that the use of the preta path would negate the sealing jutsu in the blade, if not simply dispelling the blade itself.


Now, some of you may be asking 'Then why didn't Nagato use it when he was stabbed?'
The same reason he didn't fly away using preta, the same reason he didn't summon something to take the hit and the same reason he didn't use rockets to move himself out of the way. PLOT.

Just because it has a similar appearance to Chakra, it doesn't necessarily have to be made out of Chakra. The fact that the Yata no Kagami and the Totsuka Blade are Spirit Weapons which didn't originate from the Susano'o itself [Or at least the Blade, seeing as Orochimaru spent so much time looking for it] is a testament of the fact that they are indeed not made out of Chakra, and will therefore not be absorbed.​

3) In case you forgot, Nagato's summons had been Amaterasu'd and would've been useless anyway, since they would've been sealed along with Nagato.

1) The blade itself MAY be ethereal ( Why is it gone when user runs out of chakra? oh, it must be made of the users chakra.. ), but it has a sealing jutsu in it. This is chakra, this will be absorbed.

Show me the part where it says it's not made of chakra. Show me the part where it says Sealing jutsu aren't chakra. Show me the part where it says sealing jutsu chakra can't be absorbed by preta.
