The lore states that the 六道仙人's power is to create reality from nothing and make reality into nothing. Guess which one Madara was planning to do? He wants to create a new world where is a God and all bow to his monumental ego, as per most semi sociopath shonen villains (see: Aizen, corrupted Light Yagami etc.)

Don't see the Buddhist symbolism huh? I recommend taking a look at the Sage's staff, as well as the paths to enlightenment. As if that wasn't a give-away just look at Hashirama's Mokuton style that resembled a praying Buddha. Madara had some sort of weird love-hate relationship with Hashirama Senju, and in the end he accepted the Senju philosophy but bitterly he wants to be the God of the new world. He cannot understand why the village chose Hashirama over him or why his clan kicked him out. He sees only power as legitimate, and doesn't understand what friendship or love really are.

The thing is this, Buddhism is huge in Asian culture. Even in Japan where religion isn't that important. At the end of the day Naruto is a manga made in Asia for a primarily Asian audience. You guys would do well to not forget that

Kamui doesn't have a physical manifestation, like other jutsus: you simply disappear into a whirlwind; I don't see how Onmyoudon can do anything.

you can't touch Kamui...and from what we've seen, Onmyoudon must come in contact with the jutsu to nullify it.

how can he cancel it? with his will? "Begone, Kamui!!"

I may be wrong, but this is my opinion.

It canceled Amaterasu though right? 陰陽道 and the Yin-Yang idea come from the Daoist (Buddhist) principle of the five elements. This is deeply rooted in Asian culture. Trust me I majored on this stuff in college guys, and I live in Asia. A lot of names in Naruto come from Japanese mythology as well...
