It was never stated tht obito had control over yagura when the bijuu was in him it even states tht it wasn't in him when he died
And it also states when akatsuki went after it it was on its own not sealed in anyone...
My guess is tht obito only controlled yagura because he didn't have his bijuu it even says it unclear on how yagura got rid of it...

Itachi was already praised as being the only one who could control a large amount of people over a large area. To the point the alliance's headquarters suspected only Itachi could be behind this.

Nagato himself commented on when they (Obito / Kabuto) would use Itachi's genjutsu power. Clearly implying that his genjutsu prowess is the real thing.

He doesnt need the damn Juubi to have efficient genjutsu, his tsukuyomi already shits on peeps.

According the Kisame, Kakashi was the first to survive it, and we know why....

I wouldn't say better either way there good in their own aspects....and was this last movie even cannon? If not than Obitos use of Genjutsu doesn't count. Secondly Itachi never tried to kill anyone with Genjutsu cuz he was still faithfull to the Leaf!

People are forgetting that tobi can create a miniature version of infinite tsukoyomi without the powers of the juubi.

I also believed that tobi is the one who taught itachi the tsukoyomi after he joined the alkatsuki, since Madara taught him the infinite tsukoyomi before he died.

Some people fail to to understand that itachi didn't want to do any of those things.

So we don't know if he can or cannot do infinite tsukuyomi

Infinite Tsukoyimi is just an upgraded version of Tsukoyomi, same abilities.
Remember in Road to Ninja? Sakura and Naruto went to that alter universe for what felt like days but it was only a moment in real world.
I think the fact that Obito and Madara have a greater chakra pool than Itachi for having senju dna, is what is allowing them to use Infinite Tsukoyomi.
