Look at the stature, its made of wood. I think thats where they place the bijuus. I was looking at that then i realized that Pain could know wood ninjustu. He has both the water and earth elements. Plus that wood stature is used to control the bijuus and what 2 techniques do we know that can control bijuus<br />
1. The MS<br />
2.wood nijustu<br />
So its entirely plausible Pain knows wood ninjustu<br />

We know Pain wants to create a weapon that would destroy the world in an instant.<br />

i dont think it was his idea it was Maaara's. When was the last time the kyuubi's were collected like that, in the founding of konoha. Maadara and the 1st were collecting thse beast. We also know that there 2 clans were bsy conquring other clans. Then maadara one day come up with and idea to conquer the world quickly and without casulties in their side. They collected the bijuus to create the weapon Pain was talking about but the 1st chikened out cuz he's a good two shoes. So their fight began<br />

so what maadara and 1st were planning to do last time (but someone had to chicken out), maadara is gonna do with Pain. The 1st probably distributed the bijuus across the globe to prevent anyone from acquiring all of them and making such a weapon<br />
