It was said that using Gear 2 and 3 eats at his total life span and now he has Gear 4 to add to it.
And the operation which Iva-chan did to luffy also took his half of his life span.
Then he requested another shot of iva-chan's power to increase his power in the marinford war.
Then there was the case of him getting impaled by akianu in the chest and he was already close to dead.
So how much life span does he have now?
Considering his original was 100 years?
Will he die just after finding the one piece just like Roger died(due to an unknown disease leading him to surrender himself)???

Luffy cant have two DF powers only BB has it because of his 1st DF's darkness and blackhole power.

What? Kaido didn't go through Ivankov's treatment (as far as we know) nor does he get his life span shortened from a rubber fruit.

I can see a scenario playing out in which luffy is critically injured and unconscious,and law takes it upon himself to give luffy immortality to save the future pirate king.

Side note was kaidou the last person to receive the ope ope fruits immortality? Would explain his inability to die, could account for how doffy knew of its ability...if that were true it could also give law and luffy an advantage in a fight if the current ope ope user could nullify it or something.

Yes, law can grant one person immortality at the cost of his own life. It is a power the ope ope fruits possess and was why don flamingos was so interested in it

I wasn't sold on that translation. From what I understood it wasn't so much life span (how many years he has to live) but energy (how long his body can sustain). So using his gears requires a lot of energy but its not like they are litterally taking years of his life. That would be pretty dark.

Wasn't it only gear 2 that did that? And I would imagine Oda would have to say that the effect is overcome by now because going by your age 100 which I think is high he'd already be down to 25 just because of Ivan. He's 19 now which I think also needs some discussion.

When the manga started he was 17 and there was the 2 year time skip at MF so I get where the 19 comes from but from the start of the Manga to the time skip was only supposedly a year in OP time? That seems like a short amount of time for all of that to have happened. Plus all the time since the time skip? I'd say Luffy's at least 20 probably going on 21. If that's so it gives him 4 more years to burn away. They never said how much Gear 2 ate away at a time so they could get out with establishing it's a slow rate.

You don't know that until it happens. In theory it's possible. If BB found a way others could as well now that the door is opened and Luffy isn't even that unlikely of a candidate. They said you can't eat two or you'll explode right? Well Luffy is rubber he wouldn't explode he would expand. Maybe because of his rubber abilities his body would be able to consume two fruits without exploding.
