[Discussion] Luffy vs. Vergo

-IMO Vergo was a better enemy that Caesar. I think both Law and Smoker fought a harder opponent.

-Its hard for me to say who wins, But I don't think Luffy has this fight. I giving a higher chance to Vergo and here is why.

Vergo's Haki ability is through the roof.

-He is the first person we have seen that could use Busoshoku Haki on such a level, and use it so well.

-He was able to travel across a full room in a matter of seconds which threw Law off guard.

-If you were to fight Vergo without Haki it would clearly put you in pain. And you can also assume if your Haki isn't on his level it could also put a strain on your body

---We see that Sanji is having a hard time matching Vergo's kicks. And we all know how powerful Sanji's legs are.

Now You might say that Law got around Vergo's Haki b/c he cut him in half. Well cutting damage is different than impact damage.
-Luffy does Impact damage, and Vergo makes his body harder than Steel.
-In the end Luffy wouldn't be able to really hurt Vergo, But Vergo would be able to hurt Luffy b/c of his high level of Haki.

This is not a thread basing Luffy at all. I'm just saying Vergo can beat Luffy, and that since Smoker lost to Vergo doesn't mean that he is weak.
-PS. Smoker wasn't fighting Vergo at his best, he was trying to get Law's heart back
-PS. Law had to use his devil fruit to cut Vergo, and I doubt Zoro would have been able to cut Vergo

For Luffy as an individual this is probably a more difficult fight than Ceaser, but I would say Luffy still wins....where Ceaser is more dangerous overall (Logia plus gas is a get haax power if correctly wielded), Luffy has a harder fight with Vergo because he used his fists.

But like Luci and Bluno he'd just have to break his Haki concentration or whatever!

But Lucci and Bluno didn't use Haki they used a different tech which physically hardened there body through pure strength where as Vergo uses Haki which is purely based on the persons will power. Vergo wouldn't break concentration, even after Law cut him Vergo stayed in his Haki form

Luffy would win rather easy your forgetting luffy is nearly immune to physical attacks and adding haki to his rubber body would make him even more resist to physical attack yeah cargo has strong haki but luffy is to fast CoO haki to help him know all of his moves and dodge them,also luffy's base punch can damage steal adding haki he would be able to destroy things harder then steel(example luffy destroyed an pasifista) so vergo's haki wouldn't add any protection from luffy......luffy wins med diff

Well it could become a battle of will....in which case I'd say Luffy would win....he's fighting for the kids and his dream.

I guess we also don't know the limits I'd Armorment Haki (since Law's power kind of negates it)

But yes I agree that those two weren't using Haki (Tekkai), but I'm assuming that they still recieve some ammount of damage (thoufh super low).

I would think a Haki punch would be like a pucnh against another Haki body....or they would be two pieces of basically metal clanging together....after a while something has to give....

I also showed how fast Vergo is as well. Even within Law's domain Vergo was able to move faster than Law could notice and react. and with his fight with Sanji, Vergo's kicks were almost to fast for Sanji to dodge.

-I'm not saying Jet gatling gun or the elephant version is on the same level as Diablo. I'm sayin that Diablo, Sanji's best move did little to no damage to Vergo who wasn't even in his Haki form. If Vergo was in his Haki form Diablo wouldn't have done a single thing. Thus saying Luffy's best move would only make Vergo cough a little blood if Vergo was in his complete Haki form.

-Sanji did not tie Vergo at all. Sanji only slowed him down for a time being. If that fight went on longer than it did Sanji could have been killed. Sanji being the kicking and Leg master could barley block Vergo's kicks.

-Even if Smoker wasn't fighting his best, Vergo knew how to counter every Logia attack Smoker had and he showed that.

Adding on to that we saw what Luffy's moves could do at max. We saw him fight Hordy who lacked tremendous skill. Hordy didn't even have Haki and only used steriods and was able to survive all of Luffy's hits even when they were infused with Haki.
-Now Vergo a man stronger than Hordy and Haki>physical strength would also survive those hits and send stronger hits back at Luffy.
--Joker complemented Vergo on his Haki skill. Luffy would have to use every move in his book to defeat Vergo.
----If Luffy had to use his best move(Haki infused elephant gatling gun) to take down Hordy, Luffy is going to need to upgrade to take down Vergo

Ada Haki is based on will power, The higher Vergo's will power the stronger his Haki. Zoro would have to break Vergo's spirit before he broke his body
