Their pain is too immeasurable one lost the first person to love him while losing all of his new family while trying to save them all then failing, coming back breaking into a prison being poisoned to death's door to find out you have to fight the World's authority at their door, not to mention fighting your Grandfather who've forsaken you both because y'all didn't want to be his Legacies , and then after that hump you whined up becoming the reason why what you were trying to prevent comes true, I'm like damn....... Man that's phucked up. Law on the other hand lost it all at one time, if he would have stayed with the nun he would died and if he wasn't delayed by her he would have died with his family who were killed because they knew how to stop the problem, damn

Luffy: lived most of his life thinking his brother sabo was dead, Witnessed his other brother Ace die infront of him during the midst of war, realized he was powerless and experienced what it's like to have his crew taken away...fck it he went through and entire war at the age of 17, witnessed the man he looks up to sacrificing an arm trying to save him

Luffy is more of an over time sad story though
