As we seen Luffy killed Bellamy this chapter. He tried to resist the darkness in his heart, but he failed and killed someone he considered friend.
He supressed his emotions about vengeance for Ace in timeskip, but this was his breaking point.

His heart is weakened, first his brother died because he was weak, now he killed his own friend because he was too weak to stop him. In the next chapter he'll see Law who is his another friend died because he wasn't made it in time.
