Cringe as in drawing back with fear? o.o

No. Cringe means... cringe :|

I mean it was supposed to be humorous but I reckon it to be uncomfortable and embarrassing circumstance.

Sending love letters is all I knew because when I was a teenager there was no public internet. Girls appreciate a hand written letter. That said, you never know what to expect with any letter, call, text, or in vivo conversation. Isn't that one of the most exciting parts of starting a new relationship?

The Internet was made public back in 1991...

...how teenage are we talking here?

I remember the first love letter I wrote to a girl; and it ended up being the last I quote. It was back in middle school (7th grade), and I had this huge crush on this girl in my music class. People were telling me that she had a crush on me too, so I decided to make a move and write her a love letter. She didn't show up the next day in class, so I saved my letter for the day after.

But what ended up happening was my parents went through my backpack (which they used to do when I was in elementary school), and ended up finding the ****ing letter. They confronted me about it, and made me read it in front of them. GOD, never had I been so embarrassed; they were laughing and everything! I was so embarrassed about it, I ended up not ever giving her the letter. We eventually went to the same high school, puberty hit her like a truck, and she glow'd tf up. By highschool I had the courage to talk to girls, but she ended up getting pregnant by the 10th grade, and I never talked to her again.

THE END

i had gotten a love letter placed in my locker when i was in 6th grade but it was from this kid i didnt like that way. i pretend for a while like i didnt get it and didnt even go to my locker to avoid running into the person

it just got worst and wouldnt quit, started bringing me skittles in the morning time, waiting outside of my class. i eventually had one of my older friends tell them but he went way overboard and ended up embarrassing the kid..definitely kinda felt bad i admit though we werent even cool with each other like that, dont know how the feelings were so strong on one side

Aww, I'm sorry to hear about that episode with your parents, it wasn't fair even if you were young, nobody should laugh at someone's feelings, hope you got over it. I've always been shy and found it hard to express my feelings, so in addition my mom has always told me to not care so much for boys and not tell them I like them cause they will hurt me in return, so I'm feeling like a coward about these things like love letters or anything that implies love. In spite I'm very loving and emotional :( I'm telling myself I don't have to be afraid to send this letter, even if he won't like it, it's not the worst thing that can happen and there is no humiliation in expressing feelings, we are humans damn it.

Same, I express my feelings (of any kind) better in writing than face to face

It's one sided love and it sucks. I been in this situation quite a few times. I would say pretending you didn't get the letter is rude and embarrassing the kid was just an accident, BUT not having mutual feelings and at the same time expecting that person to be there for your own use it's awfully rude! This happened to me and it took me a while to get through it. Regarding this new guy, the letter is my single move, whether he contacts me or not, I'll be fine, I just want him to read it and realise people are still capable of having feelings and they are nothing to be ashamed of, love is not an overburden.
