Looks:
Yusuke is a 15 year-old Japanese male with black hair and green eyes. He commonly wears green, grey, and black. He has beige skin, as well as a rather tall build, clocking in at 5' 10". He weighs about 178 pounds, and despite not showing any large muscles, he can throw one hell of a punch.

Yusuke is by all manners, a classic 80's Japan punk high school student. He smokes, gets in plenty of fights, and once in a while, might take the odd thing from somebody's candy shop. This however doesn't make him a bad person. Yusuke defends his friends valiantly, taking beatings from hell (literally) to preserve their lives. He's also not a bully, sticking up for the little guy, and doesn't carry a weapon on him. His logic is he doesn't need a knife or gun, because if he wanted one (which he doesn't), he'd just take it from the guy who tried to attack him with it after beating his ass. Having a no-show for a father and with his mother always off somewhere else (getting drunk or partying), Yusuke has grown up in a very neglectful environment. He's short tempered, impulsive, and likes to intimidate those who are afraid of him. Underneath his bold, cocky attitude, he has a joking and kind nature.

Origin Story:
Well. Let me take you back to a time so long ago you may not have been around to remember it... last September. Yusuke Urameshi was running around town, and he saw a little boy of no more than 5 years old kicking a ball on the sidewalk. The boy then kicked the ball into the street and ran out to get it. Being the (ir)responsible teenager he was, Yusuke scolded the boy, placed him and the ball back onto the sidewalk, and went on his way. Literally moments later, the boy ran out into the street again to get his ball. Yusuke, seeing a car coming, acting without thinking and literally threw the kid out of the way. Split seconds later, there was a flash of light, and Yusuke was dead. A ghost, lingering over his corpse. Suddenly, a person appeared floating on a wooden broom, with long blond hair and a white hoodie on her body. The girl introduced herself as Botan, guide to the afterlife, and quickly explained some things to Yusuke. You see, being a delinquent, not even Hell expected Yusuke to die like this! The boy was actually to miraculously survive with no injury, but Yusuke instead altered fate by saving the boy's (not actually in danger) life! Then, Botan presented Yusuke with another option. You see, Hell actually had no room for Yusuke, and hence, he needed to be sent back to earth. After a period of waiting 10 days, allowing Yusuke's soul to gain power enough to force itself back into his human body. During this time as a spirit, Yusuke unknowingly activated his demonic heritage, causing an influx of spiritual power in his body. After he came back to life, Yusuke had gained spiritual abilities due to his time as a spirit and his accumulated energy. If he trained, he would also be able to unlock his demonic spiritual energy deep in his body. Because the underworld realized this, Koenma, son of lord Enma, judge of the afterlife, decided to make him the official underworld detective. He is now recruited by them to kill any criminal demons who cause trouble for the underworld, as well as stop any kind of actual crime, kind of like a Demon Cop. Where the people he arrests are demons.
History:
Born to a single, fourteen year old mother, Yusuke grew up in an environment where though his mother wasn't always around, she was highly protective of him, trying to get him to avoid making her same mistakes. To this day his mother spends much of her time partying, but loves Yusuke more than anything. His father was a no-show, leaving his mother after Yusuke turned 5. He remembers very little of him, but Yusuke's mother does see him on occasion. It appears as though he hasn't gotten over her, as he can't keep a relationship. Yusuke constantly cuts school, and despite his grades not being worth a damn, he still keeps up his punk life.

Description of Powers:
Yusuke's soul, while a ghost, absorbed spiritual energy so as to gain enough strength to possess a body, the body being his own original one. The level of power required to do this is classified as D-Rank by the Underworld, and D-Rank power class demons, though weak in the demon sense, are superhuman compared to normal humans. After achieving this rank in spiritual power, Yusuke's Inner demonic powers were unlocked, as he is actually the 44th generations down grandson from one of the "Three Kings", very powerful god-like demons. He has not yet learnt to access them fully, but slowly, through training, he will gain strength. This Reiki power he has gained (Reiki being spiritual energy), gives him superhuman physical ability, removes his human physical limits, and allows him to create a variety of spiritual attacks. Yusuke can run faster than nearly any man, punch through thick metal, and accomplish other incredible feats of power.
