Name: Gambit
Alignment: Neutral
Alias(es): Remy Etienne LeBeau | Death | Le Diable Blanc | Cajun
Secret Identity: N/A

Looks: Gambit is a fairly tall man with brown hair and burning red eyes. His attire normally consists of fusha and black (sometimes blue) spandex pants with fuchia and blue body armor covering his chest and neck. The boots he wears are chrome knee-high boots with metal knee pads attached. Of course the uniform is finished with a long brown trench coat.

Personality: Gambit has shown his bravery in battle on numerous occasions. He has also been shown to be very cunning and willing to pick and choose his battles if possible. Hence the name, Gambit.

He has been known to try to talk his way out of a fight or more likely to buy time to set up his plan and obtain an advantage. He can be very sneaky, observant and patient and does not mind looking weak, afraid, trapped, or hesitant to have his foe underestimate him or to wait for his chance. He will also try to anger his foe to get them to make a mistake and is willing to wait until he has some idea of what he is up against rather than jump head long into almost certain death.

All that said, Gambit can also be emotional and reckless in battle if he perceives that is what is required or if someone or something he cares for is in danger. And he lives for the excitement and thrill of the game, the adrenaline rush, loves the company of interesting women, and is an accomplished flirt.

Gambit is also a master cardsharp and gambler and weighs the risks based on what there is to be gained or lost. He is strongly loyal to and protective of those who he considers his family. He will gamble everything for those he cares about and he cares about things very deeply. Sometimes, because of his past, he feels inadequate as a person of worth in comparison to those around him.

Gambit's greatest accomplishments and greatest downfalls have come when he has let his emotions override his instinctive cunning and wits since those are the times he risks everything.

Rank // History

Rank: 4
Origin Type: Mutant
Origin Story: His powers manifested in his teenage years, however he kept it secret from those around him. When Remy was 15, he went along with his cousin Etienne Marceaux on the Thieves Guilds ritual initiation called the "Tithing".

They were ordered to steal from an immortal mutant known as Candra, but were subdued. Candra then recognized Remy from a battle she fought with him in her past, that being Remy's future. She sold the two boys to a mutant gangster and child slave trader named The Pig, who planned on selling them to HYDRA as boy soldiers. Remy escaped his holding pen and tried to escape, but when Pig caught up with the boys, Remy picked up a playing card, charged it and threw it in Pig's face, thus discovering his new signature move. In an attempt to escape, they both jumped off a cliff into the sea. Remy was rescued by the Guild, but Etienne drowned.

History: Remy LeBeau, the mutant who would later become Gambit, was abandoned at birth by his birth father due to his unusual red-on-black eyes (they believed their child was of satanic origins). He was stolen from a New Orleans orphanage by the Thieves Guild and given to Antiquary, a collector of children, who considered Remy a perfect work of art. There he was given the name Remy and the title Le Diable Blanc (The White Devil), because of an old Guild Prophecy that spoke of a white devil.

However, Jean-Luc LeBeau greatly disliked the idea of the child being in Antiquary 's care, and arranged for Remy to grow up being watched by a gang of street thieves known as ***an's Mob instead. At age eight, Remy met and befriended a young girl named Bella Donna. A few days later, he was taken in and adopted by the leader of the Thieves Guild, Jean-Luc himself, after a failed pickpocket attempt which had been secretly arranged by Jean to meet with the young mutant.

The Thieves Guild was at war with the Assassin's Guild, but Remy was meant to be the one to unite the two guilds through an arranged marriage to the head of the Assassin's Guild's granddaughter, Bella Donna, whom he had befriended as a child years before. On his wedding day, Remy was challenged to a duel by Bella Donna's brother, Julien. When Remy killed him in self-defense, he was banished to ease the tension between the Guilds.

Gambit wandered the world as he plied his skills as a master thief, aided by his mutant power to charge objects with explosive energy. He employed playing cards he charged with kinetic energy as his trademark weapon.

Abilities // Equipment

  • Strength: 19
  • Intelligence: 20
  • Speed: 20
  • Durability: 20
  • Energy: 60 [+10 due to Kinetic Energy]
  • Technology: 10
Power/Ability: Kinetic energy control and manipulation

Description of Powers:

• Kinetic conversion and acceleration - Gambit has the ability to tap into the potential energy contained within an object and transform it into kinetic energy. When Gambit thus charges an object and throws it at a target, the object releases this energy explosively on contact. At his full strength and power, Gambit can control all aspects of kinetic energy down even to the molecular level, allowing him to manipulate the potency of his bio-kinetic energy to burn, incinerate, create timed detonations (and manipulate the potency of the energy release), fire energy blasts, defy gravity, heal wounds, and effectively exist as an energy being. He has been able to cause or simulate various energies by manipulating the kinetic energy present, such as infrared and microwaves, by increasing molecular agitation, or cold by reducing it.

• Static generation - He also has the ability to create a static interference, because of the charged potential energy always in his body, that shields his mind from detection and intrusion by even the strongest and most powerful telepaths. The shield has the added effect of destabilizing touch-based abilities.

• Accelerated regeneration - Gambit is also able to heal himself by stimulating his cellular activity (Put simply, he uses his power to speed up the rate his cells regenerate after being damaged).

• Martial Artist - Gambit's ability to tap kinetic energy also grants him incredible superhuman physical attributes (strength, speed, reflexes and reactions, agility, flexibility, dexterity, coordination, balance, and endurance), as his body constantly generates bio-kinetic energy and so is perfectly constructed for constant motion. He is extensively trained in martial arts, particularly French kick-boxing or Savate and the staff style art Bojutsu. He is an excellent hand-to-hand combatant, applying street-fighting techniques and acrobatics. This gives him an added edge that he has used to his advantage by developing a unique acrobatic fighting style.

Re: [LoT] Gambit

"At his full strength and power, Gambit can control all aspects of kinetic energy down even to the molecular level, allowing him to manipulate the potency of his bio-kinetic energy to burn, cause molecular discomfort, incinerate, create timed detonations (and manipulate the potency of the energy release), fire energy blasts, defy gravity, heal wounds, charge objects within his line of sight without contact, and effectively exist as an energy being. Under such conditions, he holds sufficient power to cause another being to be unable to move—or unable to stop if in motion. He has been able to cause or simulate various energies by manipulating the kinetic energy present, such as infrared and microwaves, by increasing molecular agitation, or cold by reducing it."

Yeaaaahhh, this is too much, notably the colored parts. Molecular level manipulation isn't going to fly also, too OPed here. His Charm ability doesn't connect to his Core Ability as the Regeneration should be explained differently because it also doesn't seem to fit your core Ability.

You're also missing Technology rating. Besides that, it's okay
