Name: Dr. Manhattan
Alignment: Neutral
Alias(es): The Quantum Observer, Dr. Jon Ostermin
Secret Identity: Dr. Jon Ostermin

Looks: Dr. Manhattan's skin radiates a vibrant blue, with fully white eyes matching the same intensity. His only clothing is a loin cloth that is modest at best. Feint lines can be seen running over different parts of his body and head that have no purpose and hold no significance. He stands about 6 and a half foot tall, and has a bald head.

Personality: Dr. Manhattan can be described as cold due to his dissociative attitude toward humanity after gaining his powers. He is completely neutral to most situations and events, neither condoning not condemning their occurance. His dissociation to human kind is not restrained by feelings, or anything else that isn't scientifically measurable. To show this point, he is quoted as to have answered the question "Is life significant, and why?" With "A live body and a dead body contain the same number of particles. Structurally, there's no discernible difference. Life and death are unquantifiable abstracts. Why should I be concerned?". He would go on to add to this point by saying "In my opinion, the existence of life is a highly overrated phenomenon." Conversely however, he can be prone to extreme human emotion, such as anger, during rare occurances.

Rank // History

Rank: 4
Origin Type: Science Origins
Origin Story: Physics researcher Jon Osterman was leaving his laboratory one evening to celebrate success in his work with a friend and his girlfriend. They had been working on a machine called an Intrensic Field Subractor, that was scheduled to turn on at exactly midnight of that evening. Noticing that he had left his girlfriends watch, Jon quickly runs back to his station inside the machine and picks up the watch. Whether by irony or fate, this was the end of time for Dr. Osterman. On his way out, the automated doors closed and locked with Jon inside. The machine did what it was intended to do, and removed the electromagnetic properties to all atoms contained within the machine, including those of Jons body. Essentially disintegrating in an instant, Jon Osterman was no more, but slowly, over the course of several months, a blue skeletal system, and then muscular system, and so on were seen reforming until a new being stood in Jon's place of existence. This new being had powers of being consistent with controlling quantum forces.
History: Jon gradually becomes a pawn of the United States government, though the means by which his loyalty is secured are never revealed; he is given the code name 'Doctor Manhattan', a reference to the Manhattan Project that, it is hoped, will defeat America's enemies. He is also provided with a costume which he grudgingly accepts, though he refuses to accept the icon design which is provided for him (this being a stylized orbital model of the atom). Instead, Jon chooses as his emblem a representation of a hydrogen atom, whose simplicity he declares to be something that kindles his respect; accordingly, he painlessly burns the mark into his forehead. This preference for material mechanisms marks the beginning of Jon's declining humanity, which is progressively mirrored by his gradual shedding of the uniform; by the end of the 1970s, he refuses to wear anything at all except for mandatory public appearances. However, Jon's presence still succeeds in tipping the balance of the Cold War in the West's favor, and the United States consequently becomes more aggressive and adventurist during this period. His abilities also radically alter the world economy, as he can, for example, synthesize the massive amounts of lithium required for all motor vehicles to become electric. At President Richard Nixon's request, he brings America victory in the Vietnam war within three months.

  • Technology: 5
Power/Ability: Dr. Manhattan's ability is control of quantum properties of matter that he has experienced. His abilities and understanding of the universe leads him to dub himself the Quantum Observer.
Description of Powers:
Clones- He is able to split himself into four versions of himself that are completely independent from Manhattan. It has been hinted that he could create more, but four is the maximum number that he was shown using.

Teleportation- Using a phenomenon known as quantum leap, he is able to teleport from one place to another nearly instantly.

Telekinetic Communication- By sending his thoughts through the air, and receiving the same way, he is able to communicate to another person through telekinesis.

Psionic Blast- Releasing a psychic wave, he is capable of wide range destruction in a relatively short amount of time.

Force Field Creation- He is able to create force fields with arguable strength. These force fields have been seen to be able to encase a large area.

Size Manipulation- His is also able to increase his own size to considerable sizes, outgrowing buildings at times.

All of the above will be submitted as techniques.

Done, and thanks for the heads up. Are you a mod for LoT or something?
I think you might have to many stat points. At level 4 we have 140 now and we no longer get a buff from our Core Ability.
Not a mod, just read the updated threads for the soft reboot.

Howard is right, you need to reduce your points by 19. Also, the added "bonus" points gained by an ability are no longer allowed. So no +5 for Quantum Observer

I subtracted 19 stat points, does it add up now?

And Serpent, are you interested in collaborating on some Drizzt customs since I have you here? Lol

You need to expand on the Core Ability definition and actually link the abilities under Description instead of just listing sub abilities. Last time Dr Manhattan slipped by when it should have been declined, but I'm giving it a second chance this time but the abilities section needs work.
