I'll fight McRazor for it one day on my path to reviving DragonLord and beating you, Vincent, Lili-Chwan, and Scorps. =D

Advantages:
  • 1. This genjutsu causes mental damage.
  • 2. It has decent range. Haven't seen a genjutsu that can be used at long range.
  • 3. No hand seals and the jutsu leaves the opponent immobilized.
Disadvantages:
  • 1. Even if the illusion is less obvious than some of the other genjutsu, it's still pretty obvious imo.
  • 2. It only effects sight.
  • 3. This jutsu needs to be used where it's plausible for a hoard of snakes to attack a person. For example I don't think it would work on a lake.
How you would use it in battle: I would use it to create an opening in battle. The target will be forced to break it if they know they're trapped in an illusion, and if they don't figure it out they're immobilized and take mental damage. A win-win.
How you would counter it: Genjutsu release, Full body chakra surge, or physical pain.
How you perform it: I would build up my chakra and direct it towards my targets brain trapping them in my genjutsu. Then I would visualize snakes appearing below the target and constricting them. The illusion would be set in place with my spiritual energy and I could have the snakes crush my opponent visually speaking.

(Genjutsu: Oshitsubusu Hebi Kubire) - Illusion Technique: Crushing Snake Constriction
Rank: B
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user puts the opponent into a genjutsu which has snakes appear beneath the opponent to constrict them and with the users command, they crush the opponent. In reality, the opponent is immobilized and takes damage due to the stress on his mind.
As has been the scene many times before Genkai stares at another clone. She is 5 m from the clone. Genkai builds up her chakra and releases it through her chakra points. She then looks at the clone and performs some fake hand signs as she directs her chakra to the clone's brain trapping it in a genjutsu. While forming the hand signs Genkai shouts, "Multi-Snake jutsu". Using her spiritual energy the clone begins to see snakes appear beneath it. The snakes wrap around the clone's body constricting it before crushing it. In reality the clone is immobilized. Genkai grabs a kunai and throws it at the clone causing it to disappear.

A few questions,
1. When you say I have to look at the target does than mean I can look at any part of the target to cast the genjutsu? Also, I thought the clapping of hands or anything sound related fell under sound release.

2. When the description says the target is immobilized would it be more accurate to say the target feels immobilized. I thought genjutsu couldn't determine a persons actions but could only fool their senses. KG being an exception to this.

Why do you want DL around?

---

1. Ignore what I said about clapping hands, mistake on my part. -.-
2. You'd be correct, this techniques were written awhile ago.

Last B-rank till A-ranks!

(Genjutsu: Hanaoka) - Illusion Technique: Flower Hill
Rank: B
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user summons up illusionary purple flowers from the ground in front of them, damaging enemies with a chance to paralyze them.
Note: Paralysis lasts one turn.

This technique leaves people a bit unsure, I think you perform a single hand seal which then places the person in the genjutsu, they will see some purple flowers grow from the ground in front of them, somehow damaging them, with a chance of paralysing them. If they do get paralysed it last for one turn.
Range is meh, seems obvious unless you're in a forest or whatnot.

I wasn't really active when DL was around. So I'm curious what it was like when he was here.

A-Ranks! :yayy:

Advantages:
  • 1. If successful opponent is paralyzed.
  • 2. No hand seals (maybe 1) are needed to perform the genjutsu.
  • 3. Low chakra cost.
Disadvantages:
  • 1. It can only be used in short range.
  • 2. Their is no real practical situation to use this in unless the target is standing in a field of purple flowers.
  • 3. The phrase "a chance to paralyze" is very loosely worded. I could see a lot of people "modding" their way out of being paralyzed.
How you would use it in battle: If I had to perform this genjutsu it would be purely for distraction purposes. If it happens to paralyze work then I get a free attack.
How you would counter it: Physical pain, Full body chakra surge, or Genjutsu release.
How you perform it: I would build up my chakra and release it thorough my chakra points. Then I would direct the chakra towards my target's brain trapping them in a genjutsu. Once trapped I would visualize purple flowers growing from the ground in front of my target. I would then set that illusion in my target's eyes using my spiritual energy. Afterwards the target might become paralyzed depending on it's reaction to the genjutsu.

(Genjutsu: Hanaoka) - Illusion Technique: Flower Hill
Rank: B
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user summons up illusionary purple flowers from the ground in front of them, damaging enemies with a chance to paralyze them.
Note: Paralysis lasts one turn.
Genkai stands in the same grassy field she has become well antiquated with over her training. She stares at a clone of sensei 5 m away as she builds up her chakra. After building up her chakra she looks at the clone directing her chakra to it's brain. The clone becomes trapped in a genjutsu. Genkai visualizes purple flowers growing from the ground in front of the clone and sets the illusion in it's eyes using her spiritual energy. The clone sees purple flowers in front of it and a single tear drop rolls down it's face. The sheer beauty of the flowers paralyze the clone. Genkai runs towards the clone and quickly closes the gap. She performs a roundhouse kick to the clone's face and it disappears.

BTW, sorry for the redundancy between the "How you perform it" section and where I perform the jutsu.

Read Cali's thing about him, and read this: You don't want him back, none of us do.

And, no matter. I expected it would redundant after awhile.
Moving onto A-ranks now!

(Magen: Chō Shinka) - Demonic Illusion: Butterfly Evolution
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary/Offensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: The user makes one handseal, placing the opponent in a genjutsu. The user then tosses a large number of explosive tags at the opponent. To the opponent, it looks as if they are countless butterflies. The opponent then believes they are sinking into the ground, in reality making them immobilized; this allows the user to place one final exploding tag on their forehead before detonating all the tags simultaneously.

This one is nice. Perform the one seal, then with that seal placing my clone in your genjutsu, you will throw a good amount of explosive tags at my clone, he will see in the illusion an undefined amount of butterflies flying towards him, my clone will think the butterflies are sinking into the ground [wot] but outside the genjutsu, he is getting stunned, this allows you to walk up to him and place a single exploding tag on his forward. Once you have done that walk away from him, and then detonate them all at once.

Wow that thread...:|XD:|XD:|:|XD:|. I didn't realize he was like that....changing my mind.

Advantages:
  • 1. Lots of damage is inflicted if the genjutsu is successful.
  • 2. Good range.
  • 3. The genjutsu makes the target feel immobilized.
Disadvantages:
  • 1. No way this illusion is believable. Swarms of butterflies don't just suddenly appear.
  • 2. The user has to get next to the target to detonate the tags making it likely the genjutsu will be broken before damage is done.
  • 3. The genjutsu will take a fair amount of pain or skill to break.
How you would use it in battle: I think if I were to use this I would do so with a clone. I would have the clone place the final tag on the target and not me. That way I don't risk anything if the target breaks the genjutsu. Like other genjutsu I would use this for distraction purposes.
How you would counter it: Genjutsu release, physical pain, or chakra surge.
How you perform it: I would build up my chakra and then perform one handseal. Immediately after I would direct that chakra to the target's brain trapping them in a genjutsu. Then I would use my spiritual energy to bring form to an illusion and set it in my target's eyes. Once the illusion is set I would take a bunch of explosive tags and throw them at the target. The target would see them as butterflies and then begin to feel like he's sinking into the ground. The target would feel immobilized and I would walk over and place a final explosive tag on their head. After walking out of range of the explosions that will be caused I detonate all the tags at once.

Genkai stares at another clone in short range excited to perform her first A-Rank genjutsu. Genkai builds up chakra in her body and performs one hand seal. The chakra is then directed towards the clone's brain trapping it in a genjutsu. Genkai then places an illusion in the clone's eyes with her spiritual energy. Immediately after the illusion is set Genkai grabs a lot of explosive tags out of her pouch and throws them at the clone. The clone sees them as butterflies. After this the clone feels like they are sinking into the ground. Genkai makes a shadow clone and hands it the final explosive tag. Genkai's clone walks over to sensei's clone and places the final explosive tag on its head. Genkai's clone then walks out of range of the paper tags and Genkai detonates them all at once.

Hmmhmm, pretty much him in a nutshell.

---

Well done.

Two more techniques till we're done. ^_^

(Nehan Shōja no Jutsu) - Temple of Nirvana Technique
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes one handseal, placing all the targets in the area under an illusion where feathers appear to fall from the sky. This slowly puts the opponents to sleep after one turn.

This one has poor range, but yeah; perform the single handseal, with that handseal traps everyone but yourself in the genjutsu, of course within the said range, from there the target will see feathers falling from the sky placing said targets in a deep sleep, but only when one turn passes. Not the most used technique here, nor one of the most useful ones.

Alright almost done with learning my first set of skills. =D When we finish the jutsu I will have completed Genjutsu, correct? How do I master genjutsu?

Advantages:
  • 1. This may be modding a bit but if you can summon a bird in some shape or fashion this jutsu could be useful. It would be hard to suspect feathers falling if you saw a bird beforehand. I'm actually working on a bird summon.
  • 2. Relatively easy to cast since it only requires one handseal.
  • 3. If the jutsu is successful it pretty much guarantees victory.
One/three disadvantages:
  • 1. Takes one turn for the desired affect of the Genjutsu to work.
  • 2. Can only be used in short range.
  • 3. Doesn't immobilize or cause damage which would be more useful for a battle since it takes a full turn for this jutsu to work.
How you would use it in battle: I wouldn't use it except maybe if I was fighting in a group. To me it's basically a waste of a move.
How you would counter it: Genjutsu release, physical pain, or chakra surge.
How you perform it: I would build up my chakra and perform one hand seal. The chakra would become more focused and I would direct it at my target's brain trapping them in a genjutsu. I would visualize a feather falling from the sky and set the illusion in the target's eyes using my spiritual energy. The target would see a feather falling from the sky and if they didn't release the genjutsu after one turn they would fall asleep.

(Nehan Shōja no Jutsu) - Temple of Nirvana Technique

Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes one handseal, placing all the targets in the area under an illusion where feathers appear to fall from the sky. This slowly puts the opponents to sleep after one turn.
Genkai stares across the grassy field at yet another clone of her sensei. The clone is standing 5 m from Genkai. Genkai has been amazed so far that her sensei can spam so many clones. Genkai makes a shadow clone that appears as a hawk on her right arm. With one movement of her arm the hawk flies up into the sky above the clone. As this happens Genkai builds up her chakra and performs one hand seal. She then directs this chakra at the clone trapping them in a genjutsu. She visualizes an illusion and sets it in the clone's eyes. The clone sees a feather drop from the sky and it appears as if the feather was dropped from the hawk. The clone slowly falls asleep after one turn. Genkai walks over to the clone and pulls out a sharpie. She draws several vulgar drawings on the clone's face.

You master Genjutsu by learning all the techniques you can, the ones that are not bio bound. You will master genjutsu.
Some people put down completed [Fire for example] cause some fire techniques require a sword, and/or some ninjutsu training. So they have to go back to learn those techniques once they reach the requirements; hope that makes sense, and sorry for the late reply.

(Kokuangyo no Jutsu) - Bringer-of-Darkness Technique
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes one handseal, causing the opponent to believe they have been trapped in a world of infinite darkness, where their sense of sight is useless. It is capable of affecting multiple targets within range. However, it does not negate their other senses.

One of the more common techniques, perform the single hand seal, causing you to initiate the technique, the target will think they are in a world of pure darkness, which in end makes there sight useless, this can trap more then one target in it also. Just the only thing, the target can still use s/his other senses. This technique is simply one of the more used techniques in genjutsu.

And, there is one more technique after this.

I see I will be a master. This will be one badge down.
I wanna be the very best like no one ever was. To learn jutsu is my real test to battle is my cause. I will travel from thread to thread searching far and wide. Each jutsu now to understand the power that's inside. Naruto!

Yeah, I just watched some Pokemon.

Advantages:
  • 1. Completely envelopes a persons sight.
  • 2. Good range.
  • 3. Easy to perform requiring only one hand seal.
Disadvantages:
  • 1. It's almost impossible for someone not to recognize this is an illusion.
  • 2. Only affects one sense.
  • 3. This jutsu causes no damage and doesn't immobilize the target. (Had a hard time thinking of another disadvantage)
How you would use it in battle: This could be used in so many situations. Since it completely blocks an opponents sight it forces them to break the genjutsu quickly or be attacked while blind. I would use it as a distraction or to simply force my opponent to take the time to break the genjutsu.
How you would counter it: Genjutsu release, physical pain, or chakra surge could be used. I would definitely use chakra surge in this case because I have no idea what's going on outside of me.
How you perform it: I would build up my chakra and perform one hand seal. Then I would direct the focused chakra at my target's brain. I would then visualize a world of darkness surrounding my target and set the illusion in its eyes using my spiritual energy. It would then appear to the target that it is trapped in a world of darkness.

Genkai stands at mid range from another of sensei's clones. It will soon be the last time Genkai sees such a clone for this training. Genkai builds up her chakra and performs one hand seal. The chakra becomes focused and she directs it at the clone's brain trapping them in a genjutsu. Using her spiritual energy she manifests an illusion in the clone's eyes. To the clone it appears a world of darkness is surrounding them. Once the genjutsu is set Genkai grabs a kunai and throws it at the clone and it disappears.

All good, last technique.

(Genjutsu: Kai) - Illusion Technique: Release
Rank: C-S
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 15-40
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user does one hand seal to focus and then proceeds to disturb his chakra flow by forcefully stopping it momentarily and then "spiking" his spiritual energy, unbalancing his chakra. This dispels any genjutsu set upon the user except MS Eye Techniques, Paralysis-like Genjutsu and Demonic Illusion: Toad Confrontation Chant. The effectiveness of this technique is dependent upon the skill of the user. A Jounin rank ninja can dispel Genjutsu up to C-rank. An S-class ninja can dispel Genjutsu up to B-rank. A Sannin rank ninja can dispel Genjutsu up to A-rank. A Sage rank user can dispel Genjutsu up to S-Rank. The user may use this technique through physical contact on others to dispel them from Genjutsu. The technique can only be used once per turn and the user still needs to fully follow the logic as to why he figured out it was an illusion.

Reason I wanted to teach you this last was, cause it's can be different ranks, depending on the amount of posts you have, Sage users such as yourself, are able to break out of S-rank and below genjutsu based techniques. This technique works by 'spiking' the chakra of the caster. The only genjutsu this won't break out of is, MS level techniques: To get yourself out of a genjutsu of such, you need to explain how you know it's a genjutsu and how you figured it was such.
Now I will cast a simple one on you, and I want you to explain how you know it's a genjutsu.

Castiel, looks at his student, and performs a single handseal, placing his student in a genjutsu, this genjutsu will make you think that there is a huge fire ball coming down from the sky towards you.

PS. I made it easy.

(Genjutsu: Jigoku Gouka) - Illusion Technique: Hell Fire
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points:N/A
Description: The user casts an illusion where the opponent sees a huge ball of fire descending from the sky and enveloping its target.

I've had fun training with you. You've been a good teacher and I hope to one day learn from you again.

Genkai stares across a grassy field at her sensei Castiel. This would be the last time she does so for a while. It is sunny outside and the wind is blowing at a medium pace. Castiel quickly does one hand seal trapping Genkai in a genjutsu. All of the sudden it appears to Genkai that the sky has turned darker. Genkai looks up and sees a huge ball of fire blocking out the sky and descending downwards in her direction. Genkai thinks to herself its odd that a huge ball of fire suddenly manifested in the sky without Castiel releasing any form of fire from his body. All this with one hand seal no less. Genkai then realizes that the air around her is not rising in temperature and the ball of fire is not producing any noise or smell as it falls. All this leads her to the conclusion that this must be a genjutsu. Upon realizing this Genkai performs one hand seal to focus her chakra before forcefully stopping its flow. In the moment her chakra flow stops Genkai spikes up her spiritual energy which unbalances her chakra and breaks the genjutsu. The illusion disappears and Genkai once again sees Castiel standing in front of her. Genkai walks over and shakes Castiel's hand thanking him for everything he has done.
