Well, I went through that stage of being depressed about how fiction is not real when I was about 13 I think. Now it exists side by side with my real life and I still find ways to enjoy it - it's just that they don't interfere with one another. I like being inspired even if it isn't productive (I don't write or draw anything myself), I like to look at beautiful things that are around and I enjoy them no matter how small without giving them any deep thought. There's nothing wrong with letting imaginary things cheer you up for example as long as you don't go crazy with them
That's a assertive practice which I tried to adopt over 1000 times. But for me to get the grasp of something visually, I am impelled to ask questions and reasons, otherwise I find no beauty in them. If things were mean't to be forgotten then I assume it's natural for that to happen to me. I feel I am getting closer to something the more I change or ask questions. If I remained the way I am now without break, I would have been defeated I feel. I agree with you, inspirations are thoughts which are temporary. Such as how a moment can last for any period of time. It's the mind. If I didn't have it, I would be able to enjoy the things i perceive without caring why I'm infatuated. I am confusing I know. I forget so much and jumble up my words. Thank you for allowing me your time. You seem to have this figured out, the mind functions are uncontrolled is the problem.
