Water is name for suiton in japanese and in naruto is one of the major nature tranformations it is strong against fire and weak to earth but sometimes use with lightning to make a stronger combo

water is weak to earth simply because the density of earth doesn't allow it to pass though it. That being said, the earth can be used to change the path that the water flows, as seen in a water channel. The water doesn't continue in a straight line, it follows the path of the earth.

It isn't weak against Earth as in the same sense that Wind is Weak to Fire or Lightning is weak to wind. Since those actually destroy the opposing Elemental Affinity, but it just stops its path of travel. Once the water actually hits the earth it looses most of its Kinetic Energy(Energy in Motion) and just falls to the ground or remains in place if it is already on the ground.

Water is a liquid substance found in the atmosphere and on our planet in naruto it ia one of the major affinity it is weak to earth and and strong to fire
it can be used in conjuction with light too it is odourless and tasteless

The main thing that I can't stress enough is that water has no true disadvantages. It is the element of yielding. Look at a river one day. It flows back and forth, yielding at the riverbanks beyond it's reach. It's the element of balance, control, life, etc. There is a fine balance between great and horrible with water. Too much and you crush your body or drown. Too little, and you die from dehydration. It's all about that gentle area in the middle where true balance and power is found. Its about softness, precision and control, rather than power or strength. It's also the only element is used properly that can be beat every element presented.

Water release techniques mainly manipulate already existing water. There are only a handful of techniques that create water or bodies of water. And that is the main difficulty behind water and it's only true main disadvantage: The need for a water source. To use water effectively, you need a water source as most jutsu require one to be used. However, unlike earth, most battlefields lack the presence of water. That is a disadvantage that a water user must learn to counter and use to his own advantage as it will surely be used against you.
