The reality is that most of the fight was Naruto vs Kaguya, Sasuke got slapped away at the beginning of the fight and spent most of it in the desert being rescued by the very people he was looking down on.

All he did in the end was help seal Kaguya by touching her, with an opening created by Kakashi and switching with a clone of Naruto while Naruto was getting up close to Kaguya.

He was there for the sake of being included in the final fight.

Sasuke has the 10 tail beast power, his eye: sharingan/rinnegan. A power that auto does everything for the use. Giving them jutsu, copies jutsu, analyze and so on.

Naruto has tail beast 1 - 9 power. The 10 tails power divided into 9 weaker tail beast. A power that can requires the user to have a strong body to be able to use.

It was never confirmed if Naruto could or couldn't defeat IT himself.

He lost to the lava without Naruto so that evens it up. Naruto did things more effective in the actual fight while Sasuke's closes was his Enton in the ice but it never hit Kaguya nor have Sasuke fight Kaguya when she had more chakra from a good couple of minutes, all it takes is for her chakra hands or dust bone to beat Susanoo then change to the lava dimension and Sasuke falls in. Ever her hair penetrated Susanoo. Kishi pulled the Goku>Vegeta/Yusuke>Hiei moment since Naruto got BM. He had a EMS Sasuke look to be equals to Naruto in BSM who was roughly at half his power or below it since he had to borrow chakra 2x from Yin Kurama when Yang Kurama was out if chakra.
