Question:

What could possibly require the assignment of ALL of Kiri's 7 shinobi swordsmen?

These are elite of the elite of the kiri village just below their Mizukage.

Assigning all of these ninja AT ONCE to one mission is a severely bad idea strategically. Especially when their only opposition appears to be a genin team (which also indicates how important this mission is for the leaf village, Read: not at all).

They would take on separate or at least teams of two missions to spread their strength across any war front. That would make sense. This doesn't make any sense at all.

Sorry kishi you should have done better than this.

I give a 2/5 for bad logic.

Most logic was thrown out the window already at this point in the series, deal with it.

I mean if one of the ninja said something eluding to how important this mission is, my disappointment would have been assuaged. But kishi just made them stand there and look tough....sooo stupid.

"Invasion". Someone forgot the reason behind Rin's death.

You saw a couple of pages and you know that is all right?

Like you, there are many impatient people jumping to answers and not letting go.

What if there was an ongoing war and the Mizukage assigned all of the swordsmen to a special task and they suddenly came across with a chūnin team, who were on a completely different mission? (At least Guy was a chūnin at that point in time)

You can't jump to conclusions when there is practically no evidence of what really happened.

We don't know anything about the context of that situation (Why were Gai and Co. there, why the swordsmen, when did it take place etc.), so this thread is pretty pointless.

Really... during the bloody mist, a lot of things were happening.

Gai was chuunin (3-man team = chuunin, 4-man team = some genin and at least one captain), so this is the period when Rin died. The bloody mist was planing an invasion to Konoha, they were going to use Rin as a time bomb... in other words, the Seven Shinobi Swordsman could be very related to this context.

Kirigakure was going to invade Konoha. Why do you think this logic is flawed?

In the other way, I think Kishimoto perfectly created a nexus between Rin's death and Gai's past.

Anyways, for my part, the context seems to be clear... this is the Third Shinobi World War.

Wasn't it the time when Zabuza killed over a hundred students from the Academy, on the final exam? He earned his nickname the "Demon of the Hidden Mist" after that

Actually it is not bad logic at all

Im planning on making a thread about this because i can't understand why there has been 3 shinobi wars before this

I say this because there is no village that even remotely compares to leaf as shown by what you have pointed today

I know some of you are going to say that this village has that person and this village has that person but every village has 1 maybe two where the leaf has at 3-5 guys of that caliber

Guy's dad by himself who a gennin in the leaf took on 7 of the mist best jonin

Kid naruto beat the one tail of sand with

sasuke a 16 year old of the leaf took on all 5 kage's

why were there any wars the world should bow in front of the leaf
