SO6P clearly wasn't uzumaki to begin with, other clans stemmed from him. The likes of Derp Obito and others (those who i cannot recall at the moment) where the one's who tried to advance theories saying SO6P was uzumaki, and it was accepted by most members of the base even though his theories where refuted multiple times in general.

If he has High chakara reserves and red hair, that makes him a Uzumaki pretty much. If he has those than he is genitacly a Uzumaki.

If I'm not mistaken the rinnegan was also a different style back in the old days.
