The Limbo replica simply wasn't there when Sasuke went to build up force for a sword swing. Given the speed of Limbo Clones, it wouldn't be far-fetched to say that the clone placed itself inbetween Madara and Sasuke straight after he went to swing at the former.

That sword clearly missed the target that is Limbo.
