I see you have brought a whip. Good.

Before we start with anything I want you to tell me what you know about my style and about using a whip in general? What are they used for, what kind of whips are there etc.

As Ian hears the assignment from mommy he takes out a paper and a pen and begins writing :

The Whip Style is a fighting style used with a tool called a whip where the practitioner uses chakra into the and will crack the whip using the sound frequncies to induce Genjutsus on the target. A whip is a tool used ususally by famers and ranchers to keep there animalsor herds under order. They where also used to torment slaves if they slacked of there work. There are the stock whips, bull whips , snake whips , buggy whip ,cow whip and many more.

As Ian finishes the statement he hands to paper to mom.

Short but a good explanation, though WA doesn't only use sound frequesncies to place a genjutsu on the opponent, in most cases physical contact will be used as a mean to convey the genjutsu, making it more difficult for the opponent to figure out he's under a genjutsu. That's also why every technique will be subtle enough to work, but also subtle enough t give to opponent a hard time figuring he's under a genjutsu.

Now, to get started I'd like you to his those can's over there

*Points to a row of 20 cans, all set apart with a distance of 20 cm*

You are going to hit those, with the whip only, one by one. You hit two or more at the same time, you set them all straight and start again, savvy?
One thing more thing, whip movements are mainly made by the use of the wrist, so try only using your wrist. In the future it will give your opponent less time to react, because by the time they can react, the whip is already heading their way.

As the instructions are given, Ian grabs the whip on his waist taking it out and unrealing it out of its wrapped form. As the cans are set, Ian takes the whip and with a flick of his wrist, the whip snaps forward and slams onto the first can, the second then the third but as Ian attempts to hit the fourth, it ends up slamming into the fifth at the same time. Ian grunts as he sprints towards the cans again and replaces them attempting again but hits the 9th one. As 20minutes passes Ian manages to clash all 20 cans without hitting more than one at once

Good, as you now know what's going on, we're going to use the whip and genjutsu at the same time. As said before, Hoippu Geijutsu uses a whip as a medium to place opponent under a genjutsu. Most of the time they will be subtle so that the opponent will have a difficult time realising he is under a genjutsu, giving the used a advantage in battle.

For now there are two technique's I can teach, and we start with the first one. I don't really see the use on 'preforming' it, so tell me the advantage's and disadvantage's of the technique and how you would use it in battle and any other thing you might be useful to note/say/ask.

(Hoippu Geijutsu: Akuma no ikari) | Whip Arts: Devils Rage
Type: Attack
Rank: B
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 30
Damage: 60
Description: The user will move the whip around his body while channelling his chakra trough the whip. As the whip hits the opponent, a small amount of chakra of the users chakra will disrupt the opponent’s chakra flow, putting him under a subtle genjutsu B-Rank jutsu where he will feel a burning pain coming from the muscle's that are near the hit point. This pain will increase over the next 2 turns, if not broken out from the Genjutsu, until the opponent has the feeling that pain is too much, and can't use the hit limb any more, until broken out of the genjutsu.
Note: Requires Hoippu Geijutsu training
Note: Can only be taught by -Severus Snape-

Well for starting sake, the technique has a good range from Short-Mid, It doesnt require handseals and pretty much is a distraction for the user to close in on the target when the chance arrives. Disadvantage is with the amount of mental stress it can actually push them out of the Genjutsu so its good to plan when to use it. Also to get the full feel the user will need to keep the whip locked on to the target

Sorry for the long wait, but since moving back to my parents I've been real busy...
______

Good, but one of the advantages you didn't mention, and what the whole style is about, is the fact that there is physical contact when the genjutsu is placed. Due to the fact that the genjutsu doesn't have an immediate effect, but rather a long while in which it forms, is it difficult for an opponent to determine where the pain comes from. For all they know the whip was induced with poison!

Do you have a question about it or should we move on to the next one?

Okay, here it is. Same as before, name advantage/disadvantages, how you'd use it etc.

(Hoippu Geijutsu: Indiana no Hanketsu ) | Whip Arts: Indiana's Judgement
Type: Attack/Defensive
Rank: S
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 40
Damage: 80
Description: This technique is the ultimate defence of a Whip Art Master. The user will spin his whip, while focusing chakra in it, rapidly around his body, creating an impenetrable dome around him. While moving creating the dome, the sound will trigger a genjutsu upon the opponent. The genjutsu itself if simple, instead of seeing the user moving around his whip constantly, the opponent will only see the whip being moved around once before the user seemed to rest the whip again by his side, while standing in the same position. In reality, the user will continue the move the whip around while moving forwards, and as the user comes within hitting distance from the opponent, he will flick the whip forwards and catch the opponent around the neck, effectively strangling or killing them, depending on the kind of whip the user carries.
Note: Can only be user twice per battle
Note: Can deflect any B-Rank or lower Elemental technique's, but the technique is broken
Note: Can deflect any A-Rank or lower Taijutsu and Kenjutsu technique's (except EIG technique's)
Note: The genjutsu breaks the moment the whip stops moving.
Note: Requires Hoippu Geijutsu training
Note: Can only be taught by -Severus Snape-

O_O This move.....

Advantages:
Can deflect any B-Rank or lower Elemental technique's, but the technique is broken
Can deflect any A-Rank or lower Taijutsu and Kenjutsu techniques
Casts a S-Rank Genjutsu

Disavdantages:
Continues movements is needed to keep Genjutsu active
Dojutsu can easliy see pass this

I would use it simply as a defence mechanism when Im not use my Hyuga bio as it acts similar to the rotations

Cool, same as before, advantages/disadvantages, how you'd use it etc etc.

(Hoippu Geijutsu: Surīpu Byūtī) Whip Arts: Sleeping Beauty
Type: Offensive
Rank: B-Rank
Range: Short
Chakra: 20
Damage: 40
Description: The user cracks his whip towards the opponent and hit him diagonally over the chest (or any other body part that comes in its way). Upon the physical contact, a small amount of the users chakra will go trough the whip, into the opponents body, placing him under a B-Ranked genjutsu. A turn after being hit by the whip, the opponent will start to feel a slight tingling where he is hit, and this tingling feeling will spread over the next two turns until his uppe/lover body is completly numb, depending on where being hit. This numb feeling will continue until the opponent dispels the genjutsu he is placed in.
Note: Requires Hoippu Geijutsu training
Note: Can only be taught by -Severus Snape-

Advantages: None really
Disadvantage: Takes some time for the true effect to take place so its very hard to time when it should be used.

I would use it when Im in more of the hand to hand combat mode of mine, as with the Taijutsu fighting as a distraction, the build up time of the illusion will go by and will eventually numb then target :3

Advantage imo would be that, like the other whip arts technique's, it's difficult to figuire out your under a genjutsu. I mean, your opponent can't say, je, I feel more and more pain, so I'm under a genjutsu. For all they know you have poison on your whip that causes the pain.

But besides that, I agree that it mihgt be difficult to know when to use it, personally I'd try to use it quite quickly, since it can immobilse your opponent in a pretty simple way;)
