Lightning is determined, concentrated and independent. Initially, she is a cold and standoffish person to others, often distancing herself from her companions. Her early solution to things that annoy or upset her is to distance herself from them, either emotionally or physically. There are a few times when she attempts to reach out to her companions for help, but refusing to show any signs of weakness, she comes across to them as arrogant. Over time, however, Lightning does begin to show compassion and trust towards others, and sees the errors in her approach.

Lightning was born in the village of the Hidden Leaf. She lived her life all alone as her parents had greatly sacrificed themselves for the good of the village. She never knew them. However, she managed to gain quite a few good friends and bold comrades that make her feel that she is not alone and that there are people whom she can always count on. During her academy days, she would often give her time to training as a thought that someday she would be worth called a ninja of Konoha.
When she graduated from the academy, she willingly accepted missions that were given to her by the hokage. All the missions that she had have successfully attained but it wasn’t that easy for her. She too suffered neither minor nor major difficulties.
In her life’s journey as a grown-up, as she finds traveling very interesting, she had fought numerous quite ninjas neither of the same rank as her across the land. She experienced several defeats but never was dead as the reinforcements were just in time for her rescue, which was moved her to strive more to be able to defeat when faced a much stronger opponent all by herself. Years passed, due to all the hard works that she has shown, she later on became a fine shinobi of the Hidden Leaf and has the strong Will of Fire within her.
