This is a pretty powerful technique. So, since the order of techniques is set for this attack, I would have to first perform a fire technique of at least B-rank, then use chidori, and then use this technique to basically use chidori to control the lightning from the sky. Even though this technique uses natural energy, it uses up the most chakra amongst the canon lightning techniques. To defend against this technique would be very hard, because it is super fast and also highly strong. However, I can take notice of the atmosphere changing and ready a defense before hand. I can't just do it after seeing the user perform a fire attack though, because fire attacks can be performed all the time without using this afterwards. But if it's directed at the sky, then I could probably guess what's coming next.

Since it says this technique has an advantage if used with height, I would use it when I am in the air, for example on a summon, or if I am on an elemental technique like an earth pillar. I wouldn't use it in short range though because it can injure me, unless it means I can kill the enemy, which in that case a clone can do for me. To defend, I would use a full body shield, but not earth since it's weak, nor water as it would electrocute me. Wind would be the best, then fire and lightning. I could also use a wall made out of any element except earth, or I could attack it with an S-rank wind technique, so that it can defend as well as go on to attack the opponent.

Description: The Lightning Cutter is an enhanced and concentrated form of the Chidori with the same effects and drawbacks that is done performing the Ox → Rabbit → Monkey hand seals. According to Might Guy, it gained its name after Kakashi split a bolt of lightning with it. Because the Chidori is already powerful on its own, the Lightning Cutter requires better chakra control, which is exemplified in its appearance. The Chidori appears as simply a mass of white electrical chakra in the user's hand, while the Lightning Cutter is much more focused. Kakashi has shown different ways of forming and using the Lightning Cutter, unique to him. For example, he demonstrated the ability to imbue a projectile weapon, such as a kunai, with his Lightning Cutter, granting the technique long-range capabilities by throwing the kunai towards his target. In this instance, the kunai was capable of piercing through multiple large rocks with ease, without any loss of momentum or change in trajectory.
Note: Kakashi biographies can use the technique without hand seals.
Note: Only Kakashi biographies can apply the technique to a kunai and use it as a projectile attack.


(Raigen Raikochu) – Lightning Illusion Flash of Lightning Pillar

Description: After performing the following handseals Ram → Horse → Snake → Tiger the user will release a massive amount of lighting chakra which he uses to create a blinding light that appears to emanate from all over the users body. The light can blind any enemy that sees it but its main ability is that, through skill and precise chakra control and timing, the user can use it as a cover to put the enemy into a genjutsu by using the light as a decoy, preventing the enemy from noticing the genjutsu was placed.
Note: Can follow with any Genjutsu the user knows up to A-Rank but needs to have mastered Genjutsu. The user will need to effectively spend two moves, performing both the Lightning Illusion and the Genjutsu; the first only serves as a cover to place the second unnoticed

Descripton: The user will channel lightning chakra into his hand, covering it with a massive chidori. The user will then point his palm forwards, unleashing that chakra, creating a massive 120º blast of lightning that spreads from his hand, outwards and forward towards the enemy.

Similar to the chidori, but more focused and stronger, I would use Raikiri if an opponent comes close to me. I could incorporate it with taijutsu moves since we would be in close range to each other. I could also use it by jumping down from a height and strike the opponent as I fall onto them. I would counter it by materialising a full body covering preferably of wind, even fire and lightning. Since it would be in short range, I would not be able to attack it unless it's an omnidirectional attack, nor would I have enough time or space to make a defensive wall. I could also use a technique to move me out of the way, like speed, or one of the elemental pillars.

Interesting, this one seems to be more unique amongst the lightning techniques. I would use it to blind the enemy and have a clone perform another attack on the blinded enemy. Or I could do what the jutsu suggests and use it as a cover to perform a genjutsu technique. I would use a genjutsu that perhaps involves darkness, like the bringer of darkness, as the opponent may then think that the really bright light temporarily blinded their eyesight. This technique does not cause any damage by itself, so there is not much to counter for it unless the user uses another technique with it. In that case, since I have sensory, I would be able to sense another attack coming, or if I am put in a genjutsu, I can sense the change in my chakra flow.

Since this technique says that it's a 120 degree blast of lightning, I'm assuming that it can be in the shape of a wall if I wish to do so. In that case, I could use this technique to defend against powerful wide range attacks by making a wall of lightning, controlled by my hand movements. If I want to use it offensively, I would just aim it at the opponent by pointing my palm at them. To defend against it, I would make a large barrier like an elemental wall, preferably wind so it can continue on to attack the opponent. Since this is S-rank, I would not be able to use a canon earth technique to counter since it is weak to lightning.

( Raiton: Raiden ) - Lightning Release: Lightning Chain

Description: This technique requires the user to firstly create a shadow clone. Then, each of them will activate the Lightning Cutter on opposite hands to one another. Connecting the two techniques together, forming a chain of sorts, they are then able to use the resulting beam to slice through objects with great ease.
Note: Must first have a shadow clone in the field.

This technique requires you to be in short range of your clone, mainly next to each other. After each of you create a lightning cutter & connect it, you can continue to run toward your target while splitting apart. This creates a chain between yourself & the clone which can spread apart up to mid range. It can be used to cut through certain wide scale earth jutsu while also making your way to your opponent. Can also be very useful in close range when facing your opponent if used in the right circumstances.

Description:The user starts off by dashing at his opponent with a Chidori in his hand. As they strikes his opponent, they uses shape manipulation to extend the Chidori into a lightning spear that impales and hurtles the opponent into the air. The user then increases the potency of the lightning, generating a powerful electric explosion at the end of the spear and sending the enemy back to the ground.
Note: Only the spear extention can reach up to mid range.

A great technique to use if your opponent has managed to evade your chidori, you could use this straight after to continue your assault with a longer reach. It can also be used just before you reach your opponent, both situations giving you a chance to surprise our opponent due to the sudden added range of the technique. Along with great tactical usage, it comes with a powerful offensive ability which allows it to create an explosion at the tip f the spear.

I could use this technique to split apart an attack that is coming towards me, or to simply just attack the opponent with it. However, I don't see myself using this technique. This is because it requires a shadow clone to use, and is only just one jutsu. If I made a shadow clone, I would rather use it to perform two separate attacks, like 2 S-ranks instead of just one to make the clone more worthwhile. To defend against this, I would need an equally concentrated attack or defense. I probably can't use a wall as it would have it's overall chakra spread out throughout the wall and so can easily have one part of it pierced, so I would need a counter just for a specific location.

I would use this one when the opponent is backed into a corner or will have difficulty moving back to avoid it. I would have to come into short range of the opponent first though in order to make contact with the chidori, before elongating it. Thus, I think it can easily be countered by just dodging the chidori with a technique or performing another attack on it. You can also attack the person using this technique when they are running, so it's not really a technique I would use either.
