[Photoshop] Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII (Inspired by Ryu-Kun...)

One of the great things about NB or at least in my experience, is that I've learned alot of useful tips from plenty of users in regards to creating artwork. From speed painting to currently learning how to clean raw manga pages. Usually stuff I wouldn't have bothered to look up otherwise had I not been here. So for those that have shown me helpful tutorials or given me good comment to point me in the right direction, I say THANKS

Anyways, Lightning is the main character from Final Fantasy XIII which was released in Japan last week and will be released next year in the rest of the world. This pic is a screenshot I found on Kotaku. I followed guide that Ryu-Kun posted that helped get a lot of good details and just combined it with what I got out of my previous attempt with speed painting. Doing the hair was incredibly difficult for me. I still have lots of improve in all general areas but it was still fun to do. Background was done fairly quick but I used the soft airbrush which blurred it for me already.

Please leave a comment or criticize till you feel content. Reps+/Thank you's would be greatly appreciated (I'll only ask this if I really liked my work plus it keeps me motivated to draw )

tHE face is a bit weird but everything other than that is great and btw do you have a tablet and was that previously a drawing ???

wow looks awesome!! love the hair,it actually turn out great
something is missing though,maybe its the lighting.or maybe her hand :/ i think it just needs a little bit of tweaking to be even better argh!cant wait to get the tablet T_T!!!

Probably her expression is a bit drawn out. I'll probably edit it with her mouth not hanging out so much. Yeah I think I told you before? You should get one.

Thanks. Yeah it suppose to be more dark on the right but I kinda chickened out on going that far. I'll probably add more shadows tomorrow.

Her lips wide opened looked good at the time. It's when I stepped back a second when released her expression was slightly off. I uploaded a reworked version. Added more strains because as you said the hair does lool a bit solid which I was worried from the start. Plus just more shadows/contrasts.

Nice,love the reworked version.The face is much more 'alive' now.But i still think the lighting is a bit dull(no offense,or maybe its just me),more dodge/burn here and there on her hair and make it more natural/smooth silky or CG-like xD anyway since this is actually your first time coloring like this,ill let you go for now xD jk i havent even tried doing something like this.Do me a favor,critic my artwork as soon as I get to post an artwork made with tablet,lol

Yeah. I didn't realize that with the two side by side, the darker parts of the second one gotten lighter for some reason. Yeah I added strains but I could more details ones. Yeah I can't wait
