Hercules was born when Zeus wanted to bang hercules mom but she turned him down (being one of the very few humans to turn down zeus) citing that she had a husband. Zeus was pissed and transformed into hercules' mom's husband and did the deed lol. Thus hercules was born. When he was born hera was angry and tried to kill him by dropping snakes into his crib which hercules killed easily. Hera retained her hate for hercules later on in life when hercules was married. She got a spell caster (I think it might have been the god of wind) to cast a spell on hercules where he saw his family as a group of monsters. When he came home he killed them all and the spell wore off, leaving hercules to grieve and seek forgivness. Thus he was assigned to do 12 tasks to redeem himself. These consisted of near impossible things to do like killing the hydra, cleaning some stables, killing the nemian lion, getting some golden apples, and stuff like that. However his cousin helped him on two tasks (one of them being killing the hydra) and he had to do 2 more tasks. I cant remember what those were though lol, anyway he passed these and won forgiveness. Then later on he got married again and his wife gave him a cloak or something because she thought hercules was going to cheat on her. But the cloak was magic or something and hercules ended up catching on fire due to putting it on. Due to being a demi god he couldnt die so he was just on fire in extreme pain for a while before the gods decided to make him a god and end his suffering
