A thing I noticed is that Americans tend to have an idealized view of politics. Many see their favorite candidate as some sort of a hero, who will solve all the problems and will act totally disinterestedly.
We are the exact opposite, we tend to be very (and perhaps excessively) diffident towards politicians. Here people consider them to be a bunch of egoistic scammers, who are there only to fit their own interests.
The truth is in the middle I guess
