First Kakashi was a Jonin, he was allowed to lead the mission because of his rank. Second when it comes down to it, it was Kakashi and Obito's fault for what happened during that whole scenario. Minato had nothing to do with Kakashi and Obito's little feud which ended up splitting up the group and allowing Rin to get captured in the first place.

Lastly, Minato was fighting a small army on his own this time, while also trying to keep tabs on the war and on top of that what his students were doing.

As for Rin's death, well the circumstances of Minato's whereabouts at that time are unknown and there's too little information on what exactly happened during that time to assume anything.

It was war time.... Even low ranked ninja had to take on more top level missions.... And please, you know that kakashi is a BOSS even when he was like a kid/teen at that time. Very young jonin and anbu. Even with Minatos FTG, he can't look over them 24/7 lol....

Kakashi was a Jounin. You know, the same position of responsibility Minato was during Kakashi Gaiden. Age is irrelevant because Kakashi was deemed suitable for that role. He could've led his own three man squad at that point. Laughable that you think Minato is in any way responsible for what happened to them after Kakashi achieved that rank.

I don't think Minato is to blame. When Kakashi was out cold, Tsunade had Yamato step in and lead.

It seems Hiruzen is responsible for splitting up Minato from his team.

All this, Kakashi was a jounin. Yes, in ninja skills but not in experience. Minato himself said that Kakashi should improve on his teamwork.

kakashi was a jonin at the time and was replacing minato as the leader of the team... it was also during war time, and decissions on how to split man power was made and the best decision was for minato to create a distraction out front and kakashi's team to sneak around to plant explosives... when rin was killed im very sure that kakashi was just plain and simply the leader... in no way is this poor leadership, they didnt have the luxury of training thier ninja with chasing cats and running boring errands like when naruto was being trained, it was war time...

They where in war, they can't afford to have their best fighters baby sitting the noobs.

Also, Minato might not have been in charge of Kakashi at that point at all, Kakashi might of picked his team for that.

If you still cannot fathom the meaning of the individual spoilers ill explain. The first was to show that though minato left them, he left them with an hirashin kunai, he left them with help because he had to attend to serious matters which was the where the action was taking place. There were only 4 konoha shinobi's were alive surrounded by enemies.

Next spoiler was to show that something similar happened again but this time with kakashi being the sensei. He sent lower rank ninja's on a mission in a time of war, but also the mission excluded fighting at the full front of the war, instead it was kakashi/gai and the other jonins who stayed at the chunnin exam and fought. He laso gave them help in the form of pakun

Final spoiler was to show that at a time of war, konoha shinboi, whether jonin or chunnin and even genin was needed. Not necessarily to fight at the full front but to help in some way. Sure it was said that sasuke was chunnin level at the time, however his official rank was still genin.

On a more serious note, i never thought id take my time and defend minato this much because his fanbase are trolls :p

maybe because kakashi was always too mature and serious that he didn't need to babysit everyone

Minato and kakashi were both jonin and rin and obito were chuunin. He had every logical reason to leave them, he also saved kakashi and rin right after obito "died"

I remember seeing somewhere that the leaf was low on forces during the 3rd great ninja war so they used kids. I'm pretty sure that Tsunade's brother died the same way. Plus Kakashi was a jounin and Minato was the most important person in that war, he couldn't have 13 year old dragging him down the entire time.

Disagree. He left Kakashi, a Jounin in charge of the team and he went to fight from the other side of the Kannabi bridge or something. It was due to the fact that they had low military force. It wasn't his decision, it was probably Hiruzen's.

As for the Kakashi-Rin situation, we have no idea why those two were alone out there among a massive group of Kiri hunter-nin, but I am sure there is good reason for it. If Rin is a spy, it is not under Minato's control. If Rin was kidnapped and Kakashi killed her to save a KKG, it is not under Minato's control. If they were sent out as a pair and they were ambushed, I doubt having a third Konoha member would have helped (even though ironically it was Obito who helped) and again, this was not under Minato's control. At this point he was Hokage and had more to worry about than the remnants of his four man cell.

Obito 'died' when they were all around 13 and we assume they would be the same age or nearing 14 when Rin died. Also, Minato has Flying Thunder God, which allows him to be everywhere at once as long as his formula is there. Kakashi had his FTG Kunai and Minato would be able to appear as soon as trouble occured, assuming Kakashi used the kunai. The only fault here is that he did not tell Kakashi this, or the situation could have been resolved, but this was due to plot because Obito needed to disappear and find Madara in order to become Tobi.

How am I a troll exactly? This is just my impression of the character. Me being a troll would I'd make vs threads on how he loses to choji or some sh1t. It's not like I'm defending my argument without any reason. Personally from what I've seen of Minato, he seems irresponsible to me. But now maybe my mind has changed to the circumstances.

My point is that Minato was irresponsible also. Everyone talks about his as a flawless character, which I disagree with; And yes I do believe Itachi was irresponsible too.

Minato might be a praised character....but the fact still remains that he was a poor team leader/trainer.

During the "Third Shinobi World War"(something that should be taken incredibly seriously) he let his students go on a solo mission.... -_- and because of that, it lead to Obito's apparent "death". I believe they were somewhere around 10 by the way.

After not learning from his first mistake.....he did the same thing by letting only 2 of his students now, undertake a perilous mission on their own. Mind you, they are about 12 or so now. Due to this, Rin was killed by Kakashi for reasons unknown....but still dead.

and also it was the mercy of Obito to not kill him....technically Obito even saved him, because he passed out after killing rin and was vulnerable to the hidden mist ninja.

Which means Minato could have lost his whole entire team.

So there you have it.

I could be wrong, but I don't ever remember Kakashi leaving team 7 on their own during part 1 of naruto.....or any other team leader for that matter.

How is it different to Kakashi leaving a chuunin Sakura with an old hag to fight Sasori? Sakura and Chiyo could have both died if Sasori did not show mercy at the very end.

You also seem to have a big misconception, comparing Kakashi's part one team to Minato's team?

That makes no sense at all, considering that Kakashi was already a JONIN and both Rin and Obito were CHUUNIN already. Kakashi's part one team were just rooky genin.

If leaving a Jonin and two chuunin to complete a mission while you save a whole BATTALION of shinobi is irresponsible, then there has never been a responsible person in the Naruto verse!

Disagree. Kakashi was a Jounin during that war. The smarts were there for him to lead a team of Chunin like Obito and Rin, but they were each a team of leaders though. Each of them could have lead a team. You don't grow something by smothering it, you have to give it room to breathe. The episodes with Obito and Rin are squarely blamed on Kakashi, which Kakashi even admits when Pain kills him.
