Minato might be a praised character....but the fact still remains that he was a poor team leader/trainer.

During the "Third Shinobi World War"(something that should be taken incredibly seriously) he let his students go on a solo mission.... -_- and because of that, it lead to Obito's apparent "death". I believe they were somewhere around 10 by the way.

After not learning from his first mistake.....he did the same thing by letting only 2 of his students now, undertake a perilous mission on their own. Mind you, they are about 12 or so now. Due to this, Rin was killed by Kakashi for reasons unknown....but still dead.

and also it was the mercy of Obito to not kill him....technically Obito even saved him, because he passed out after killing rin and was vulnerable to the hidden mist ninja.

Which means Minato could have lost his whole entire team.

So there you have it.

I could be wrong, but I don't ever remember Kakashi leaving team 7 on their own during part 1 of naruto.....or any other team leader for that matter.

I lol'd at the bit were you said after not learning from that mistake he let two of his students go off on their own

But it was difficult times you can't blame minato that is just the consequences of war which is why it has ****ed up so many people in the shinobi world

I guess so but Minato has FTG, thinking he can get to anywhere at anytime.

First of all, they were older than 10 years old. They were 13 during the first mission and 13 or 14 during Rin's death.

This was war, Konoha could not afford doing anything else.
It was also most likely Hiruzen's (Hokage's) decision rather than Minato's.

The reason that Kakashi never did something similar with Team 7 is because it was a time of peace.

Didn't Kakashi get promoted to jounin right before that mission? Doesn't that mean he was technically at the level to start leading his own missions? I do not think you can blame Minato for the fact the Obito would not follow Kakashi's orders. If you think about it if Obito would have followed Kakashi's orders yea Rin would have died there but they most likely would have been successful in their mission. So if anything it is Obito's fault for not following the chain of command and in war that is essential.

all ninja have to learn to do things on there own .... also kakashi was a jonin at that time and he should of been very capable of taking care of his self .... you could say the same for a lot of ninja that had to go on missions on there own bare in mind they were in a time of war they didnt have the ninja to just dispose im sure minato was needed on much higher ranked missions, the hole reason y he left kakashi and everyone to go solo was becasue he was needed somewhere else

also there are many other leaders that have been irresponsible such as hiruzen ... biggest mistake oro
kakashi practically neglecting naruto and sakura for sasuke and look how sasuke turned out

imo minato was a pretty damn gd leader

also....

Well we dont have minato's confirmed location at the time of rin's death do we? That may not have been his fault

Kakashi was a jounin

Minato handles everything like a beast

It was war, he had to make decisions

They where in war, they can't afford to have their best fighters baby sitting the noobs.

Also, Minato might not have been in charge of Kakashi at that point at all, Kakashi might of picked his team for that.

Uchiha clan and death are like magnets, it's almost inevitable.

i'm just ready for an entirely new plot, with a non-uchiha as the main antagonist.

they were 12 on their first mission that he let em alone and around 14-16 the second time, naruto does fine without kakashi around at the age of 16 and kakashi didnt need to be able to be taken care of he was about 15 and already a jounin

And btw:

He trusted kakashi as he was a jounin

Minato saw kakashi as a jounin, not as a kid

He wasn't like booohooo ur coming with me I'm gonna babysit you kakashiiii

Atleast he let them go on their own as jounin and chuunin. Tsunade let a bunch of genin go on an A to S rank mission to get sasuke. Thats more irresponsible

You might be looking at minato wrong

Minato went on his own because he was going to handle all the enemies in the backline so kakashi, rin, and obito could handle the main task.

When kakashi and rin were alone, that was madaras doing, you dont know, maybe madara waited for the perfect moment when Minato was occupied, you are assuming minato was free.

And obito didnt kill kakashi for a lot of good reasons, obito left the task of kakashi to see the future for him. But now obito is seeing a different future wants to change what hes done, he doesnt care for him
