Lee and Gai are not the best taijutsu users

The only thing they have is speed, thats it.

Lee has never won a fight when the opponent can cancel out taijutsu. Gaara wrecked Lee, Kimmimaro was going to wreck Lee.

This actually makes them the worst taijutsu users, if in a non-taijutsu battle.

Gai only took down Kisame because he didn't have knowledge of Hirodura, otherwise he would have blocked or got out of the way.

People who can use taijutsu and add it to their abilities are the ones who are the "best".

For example NEJI can uses taijutsu and uses his Byakugan, and use his chakra to create powerful attacks.

For Gai; he wasn't evenshowing exustion when he defeated Kisame. Who's to say that he couldn't fire off another Hirodura? And, his physical strength and most likely speed were far greater then Kisame's. Kisame wouldn't have won that; Sorry. That, and Gai had no knowledge on GSB. It was a fair fight. ..Sort of...


True, those who can mix ninjutsu or such with taijutsu do have an advantage. Neji and Kimimaro are top five. But, Lee actually did a number WHEN injured, WITH weights on, NOT CAPABLE of accessing the gates, on Kimimaro. Yes yes, Kimimaro WAS on his death bed. But the fact that the Kaguya Blood Line renders most close range activity useless, and Lee was holding his own in such a state is remarkable.

Gaara did not wreck Lee. For it being such a bad match up for Lee, he did a good job at fighting off Gaara and even unconscious wanted to continue. "Wrecked" Should not be used here.

Gai is the tiajutsu king. He can go toe to toe with other foes when relying on mainly taijutsu alone. Top notch foes. Lee is either Second or third; Tied with either Neji or Kimimaro. IMO.
