Solid ash customs are sweet. Explosions whenever you want, and tangibility.
( Katon: Kasumi Enbu no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Mist Blaze Dance Technique
Rank: D
Type: Offense/Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: After performing the necessary hand seals Snake → Ram → Monkey → Tiger, the user is able to create and blow a flammable gas from their lungs. Once it comes in contact with fire or sparks, the gas ignites into a large fireball.
You weave 4 handseals, and gather Fire chakra in your lungs. However, instead of converting your Fire chakra into actual fire, you superheat your chakra only until that point that it forms a flammable gas of sorts. This is a supplementary technique primarily, and can be used to convert a small fireball into a larger one. Pretty basic. You can use this at an unpredictable moment at a projectile technique so as to take the opponent by surprise. This gas would be exhaled as a stream, and you would maintain focus over your chakra to fuel the technique.
( Katon: Haisekishō ) - Fire Release: Ash Pile Burning
Rank: B
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user spews superheated ash from their mouth after performing four handseals. The ash is hot enough to cause third-degree burns on the victim. Because it's composed entirely of ash, it stays in the air around the victim like a cloud. If the user clicks his teeth, the stagnant ash will ignite, creating a violent explosion.
Aha. One of my most favorite Fire techniques. I have two custom variations of this jutsu. The technique we all Fire custom makers thank Kishi for. Anyways, yeah. You weave 4 handseals, and gather a good amount of chakra in your lungs and superheat it to only such level that it forms extremely heated ash, while you condense your chakra at one single point. The temperature of this ash is so much that it can cause 3rd degree burns on the opponent, if he gets hit by it. Since, this is a gaseous form of Katon, it stays in the atmosphere, like a smoke cloud. Not only does the ash cause terrible burns, it also can cause a devastating explosion. You would place a flint in your teeth, and when you click your teeth, the stagnant ash would explode violently, releasing all the condensed chakra from the point of focus. This is a streaming jutsu, until you blow out the ash, although once the ash is spewn, it is self sustaining. Not only can you use it to burn or explode, you can also use it to hinder your opponent's vision of you. This is a certain kill, if not countered at time.
(Katon: Keshi Makuga Hara) - Fire Release: Exploding Flame Crater
Rank: A
Type: Offense
Range: Mid-Long
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: The user first stomps on the ground, using his fire chakra and making an underground tunnel from between themselves and the opponent. They then breathe out fire into the tunnel, causing the fire carry rock and other debris with it as it travels, melting them. With a single hand seal, the molten rock debris will erupt from the ground underneath the opponent, engulfing them and burning them alive.
A potentially useless technique, but here it is. You gather a good amount of Fire chakra and channel it to your leg, stomping the ground as hard as you can. This powerful stomp causes an underground tunnel of sorts to be created. You then, gather Fire chakra in your lungs and exhale out a powerful stream of fire at the tunnel underground. Obviously enough, there would be debris, rocks, and all sorts of earthen materials. The exhaled stream is so hot that it can easily melt rock. As you would blow the stream, the force of the stream would push the rocks and debris, as well as melt them. With one handseal, you control the lava like material to erupt below your opponent, which would easily burn them alive with the slightest contact. Very long in it's performance, and nearly useless thus.

How come the gas doesnt possess damage after it is ignited into a fire ball? Would it mean its just like free form damage? And it seems I was somewhat wrong about the gas usage, it doesnt really blow up at least not this one, instead it takes the form of a fire ball. For a low ranking technique it requires a lot of hand seals but that could be said because of it's uniqueness and its ability to travel even up to mid range.

So the clicking of the teeth isnt a cosmetic way to activate the technique by manipulating chakra? Its actually sparks produced by the flint on your teeth? I suppose flint isnt in our teeth? Not very sure on that haha it sounds like a mineral. One of the most unique fire techniques Ive seen, beating the fire scrolls by far, as I said before it reminds me of a wind technique in combination with earthen dust, however it's super heated so it causes burning damage and it has the potential to explode. Not only that but it can be wide spread for a larger area.

Useless? I wouldn't say its useless. If the target is traveling underground by some means, so long as your chakra overpowers his you could create the tunnel so that he could be burned alive by the incoming fire which in turn is producing lava. Also this could be done with shadow clones if you set it up so your target goes airborne, trying to detonate the lava as the target is about to land, if used right this technique has great potential. In fact it seems more useful than the gas technique I just learned, not the ash but the gas one.
