well i guess, it can be very helpful to distract my enemy in battle, enemy can give the opening, allowing me to attack them due to this sticky substance which creates a swamp around them. i can easily attack them at tht time.
it can also make enemy's body sticky or gummy and due to this they cant move their bodies easily.
it can also effective against fire jutsu.
As for trap i can put it behind me on my trail to get a loose of enemy if followed.

well it can b usefull against those KG in which one should see his/her enemy to attack.
like 'Nara's shadow' as shiakamaru cant attack his opponent without out seeing him.
well with hidden mist jutsu i can easily use my Suigandan Jutsu to attack my enemy without going near to him.

It's useful against the KG Sharingan. Sharingan CANNOT see through mist.

okie for that i have to start by sending Suiton chakra into skies.

[i start releasing it in atmosphere, forcing all my chakra to gain hieght in sky]

[forcing my chakra move in random direction that cause the cloud to rain, every drop of rain is fused with my chakra]

[by watching it was ordinary rain, but i can fell every inch on ground where the rain drop fall]
[due to that it was easy to find out the clone]

Remember that this can combo with Hidden Mist very well. Especially against Sharingan.
Now focus your Suiton Chakra throughout your whole body. Start molding your cells to take on the affinity of water and allow your whole body to "melt" and become a liquid. Sort of like subsitution jutsu.
