A young man in his early twenties, arrive while playing with kunais. He notices the young ninja waiting for him. Quickly he throws the kunais right in front of his leg.


What is your name young guy? And why are you here

 

[Detective L]

Shikamaru not shocked by the kunai steps forth,hands in his pockets and says

"I have come to learn about my clan's techniques,the Nara clan that is."

Shikamaru then sighs while looking bored.

 

[Flash]

Looking at his unfazed expression, Ezio gives a smirk.

So why do you want to learn our clan's technique?,Ezio asked while expecting some high enthusiastic answer.

 

[Detective L]

Shikamaru then sighs one again,as this might take some time.

"Well,firstly,our clans techniques are can only taught by Nara clansmen.These techniques are specific to our clan.I want to learn our techniques for my use in battle,for defense and offense.They would be a great addition to my fighting as with intelligence and skill,one could easily defeat a strong shinobi when using our clans techniques."

Shikamaru then watches Ezio after giving his explanation.

 

[Flash]

Shikamaru then sighs one again,as this might take some time.

His explanation was rather blunt. Ezio was expecting something better, something interesting.
Hmm...he's gonna be just one of those >_>,Ezio sighed.

Ok. Firstly tell me what do you know about our clan?

"Alright then" Shikamaru said while putting on a serious face.

"The Nara clan,originating from Konohagakure in the Land of Fire.A clan know for its signature shadow jutsu that only they have.Intelligence also seems to be a trait of them.The Nara clan also have their own forest,as seen in the battle against Hidan.The Nara clan has a special relationship with the Akamichi clan and the Yamanaka clan.They have fought together in a formation called Ino-Shika-Cho for generations.Shika being the first part of the Nara clan male.They insert their chakra into the shadow to manipulate them.The shadow can then be used to control other ninjas actions and even strangle them.The weakness of shadow manipulation is complete darkness as there wont be any shadows and their strength is light.With light,there can be a shadow. "

Good. But you got it wrong with the advantages and disadvantages part.

Shadows are weak against complete darkness true. But it is also weak against Light.
Its advantages depends on the way the darkness and light is used. Can you tell me why? And How?

 

[Detective L]

"Total light,also results in no shadow being formed.At a certain angle,with a certain amount of light or darkness,a shadow can be formed and used.Also, Katon and Raiton, if used correctly, can change the direction of the shadow, and even expand it. That can work either way (even by the opponent, to redirect the user's shadow)."

 

[Flash]

Ezio ponders over his student's answer.

Hmm Can you tell me how can you use katon/raiton to your advantage?

 

[Detective L]

"Katon generates light,so it creates a shadow which can be manipulated,same goes with Raiton when is strikes something like a bush,it will burn,thus also creating light which generates a shadow.Whether the Raiton and Katon be used by me or the enemy,it can be used to an advantage of creating a shadow,where one was previously unavailable."

 

[Flash]

Say you are facing your opponent. And you use a big-ass fire jutsu. How can you use this to your advantage to increase your shadow?

 

[Detective L]

"Well,the Katon would generate a shadow as it is a light source.I would use that shadow to extend my range.This means I could get to the opponent easier,as it extends my range,the opponent could be suprised.Correct me if I am wrong,Sempai."

 

[Flash]

You understood the concept about creation of shadows under the influence of light. But you do not understand how the shadows are created or, on which direction the shadow is created in.




Lets take a simple experiment:

2 shinobis face each other. Say you and me.

Case 1: Now say I drop a flashbomb behind me. What happens? The light hits my back and my shadows move forward towards you. Correct?

Case 2: Now what happens when I throw a flashbomb between us? The light would hit my front side and my shadows would be created behind me. Same, your shadows would be going behind you.

Case 3: I/You drop a flashbomb behind you. What happens? Your shadow would be extended towards me.


The same theory applies when you use a jutsu like katon on your opponent. It could be compared to Case 2 where the source of light is in the centre. Got it?
With this theory, you can make up various strategy to capture your opponent in your shadows.
Ex: You and your ally have your opponent standing between you two. If your ally uses katon on the opponent, it would make the opponent's shadow move towards you, which you can use to your advantage. Get it?

"I get it Sempai.I have grasped the idea,so I have no questions.Lets proceed."

Ok before we continue, there are certain rules that you need to abide by....

• First of all, if you don't understand something or have any other questions please ask them either here or via vm and I'll try to answer them as good as I can
• Secondly, try to reply in your own words, thus not simply copy me nor anyone else. It does not matter if you get something wrong. "A smooth sea never made a skilful mariner."
  Also, I want you to explain everything in detail. Cuz manipulating the shadow is not only difficult, but also tricky as the opponent can easily counter the jutsu if not used properly.
• Thirdly, if you do not reply within one month, I will drop your training without further notice.
• Fourthly, please try to use proper English. It is very annoying for both you and me if I do not understand what you say and I tell you to redo the jutsu over and over again until I understand you xd
• Last but not the least, after the training ends, you must fight me in battle field and try to trap me with the secret technique of our clan.

If you're comfortable with the rules, we can continue. Or else you can simply withdraw from the training.

 

[Detective L]

To start off, I want you to meditate and feel the nature. Once your body is calm, I want you to channel your chakra into your shadows and push them towards me.

 

[Detective L]

"Alright then."
Shikamaru says so while proceeding to stand still.He stands quiet for a considerable amount of time,feeling nature.Shikamaru breaths slowly,focusing.
"I feel calm enough,now the shadow"
Shikamaru channels his chakra into the his shadow,causing it to slightly move at first.He tries again,but this time with more concentration.He then aims it toward Sempai Ezio,where it then moves.The shadow moves at a slow pace while Shikamaru concentrates.
