The clan formed a long time ago, at that time the 5 great nations didnt exist and a lot of wars were breaking out among clans. A group of ninja that lived by a coast were extremely talented with water jutsu. This made it easy for them to defend their village. They trained daily and studied the water. Eventually they become close to the water and every creature within it. Eventually they became genetically altered into a mix between sea creature and man while also being able to breath underwater. They went to ware with the senju/uchiha, lost and in order to survive exiled themselves to the ocean in a barrier jutsu.

They can breath underwater, are fast (1.5x), stronger(2x), are immune to bacterial attacks, amazing swimmers and immune to lower ranked water jutsu.

A while back when the five great nations weren't even created yet and battles between clans were very common, there was a small clan whom lived by the coast. These clans men and women had a great talent in the ways of water, and they used this gift to protect their village which was located purposely by the ocean. The Gyojins as they were called, every day tried to unravel the mysteries of the ocean by getting a greater understanding of all aspects of it. The Gyojins were very familiar and friendly with all of the sea creatures whom inhabited areas near or around their village. After many years of very intensive study and experiments, the Gyojins developed a very peculiar yet incredibly valuable ability: underwater breathing. This being said, the Gyojins slowly lost some of their "human roots" and in exchange became a mixture of sea creature and human.

When wars became so intense and on such a large scale that the Gyojins could no longer sit in their village and live there somewhat peacefully, they armed themselves and headed to battle. They Gyojins were in no way ready for what they received though. The Uchiha with their overwhelming doujutsu and katon capabilities as well as the extremely talented Senju were on a completely different level than the Gyojins. To make matters worse, the two clans had recently formed an alliance by choice of Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha. The clans on their own were bad enough, but together and lead by those two shinobi, the Gyojins had no chance to begin with. At least not at that point in time. The Gyojins who survived the wars fled underwater, and over time created a new village. Almost all memories of the Gyojins have been lost in the unforgiving maze of time.

Izuna Uchiha created the clan. Without any special training, Gyojins are naturally two times stronger than the average human while they are also one and a half times faster. Gyojins have a filter against bacteria related sicknesses as well. Gyojins can breathe underwater without training, can swim extremely fast, and do not take any damage from D-rank or weaker water based techniques.

Special Abilities: The Gyojin clan share some basic abilities related to their genetic traits, such as: their incredible physical abilities (about 2 times stronger and 1.5 times faster then a regular human), a naturally occurring mucoprotein (common to fish) that is both a protection against bacterial infections but also a natural insulator, the ability to breathe underwater, an uncommon resistance to D-rank and under water techniques, and finally incredible swimming speed.

Then, as you rise amongst the clan’s rank, a clansman develops/is taught some new abilities: a strong affinity with water (being able to use B-rank and under without handseals as well as defining their resistance to water jutsus, being unaffected by C-rank and under), a new branch of taijutsu called Gyojin Karate (customs to be submitted), the ability to sense bodies of water and everything inside a water source, and ultimately high rank clansman are allowed to sign the contract with the mighty Sea Kings (custom to be submitted).

Special Info: The ranking system will be simple:

-Gyojin: Can use all the basic abilities of the clan.

-Mizuchi: Learn how to use the Sonar ability.

-Ryūjin: Learn to master his affinity with water up to C-rank.

- Suijin: Masters his affinity with water up to B-rank and is introduced to the low level technique of the Gyojin Karate.

-Mazu: Continues his training with Gyojin Karate without learning the secret techniques of the clan.

-Poseidon: This is the highest rank one can achieve in the Gyojin Clan. At this point, the clansman in allowed to complete his training in the Gyojin Karate’s secret art, and to sign the Sea King’s contract.

Fisherman Karate is special in the way that its destructive power comes from water molecules. I assume said water molecules are made to vibrate very violently, thus the destructive power. The water molecules are gathered around the part of the body which is being used in said technique. Water molecules are very handily invisible as they are... molecules. Because the molecules are invisible, an opponent could misjudge the power of an attack of Fisherman Karate mistaking it for regular taijutsu. (I'm sorry this isn't very much detail, I just couldn't gather too much information on it, but I do have questions!)

Questions:

1) Is my assumption right that the destructive power comes from the water molecules vibrating?

2) I am fairly confident that all Fisherman Karate techniques are not any slower in the water as Gyojins are fast enough in water to still hit hard, but is this true? Also what about regular taijutsu in water as a Gyojin?

3) Is Fisherman Karate weak to doton and strong against katon like how a regular suiton jutsu would be?

Now my question is how invisible are these shockwaves to the opponent. Can they perceive the threat by possibly interpreting grass being moved violently and such?

1) No and yes. The shockwaves naturally have a highly destructive power, that much is certain. Gyojin produce them through water molecules spread out through the air which also serves a medium to transport said shockwaves into farther distances, however at the same time, passing through the water molecules increases the damage of the shockwave greatly, thus humans and other beings made of water take high levels of damage from them. So in a sense, while the shockwave do not rely on water for strength, it does indeed matter when it comes to increasing it's damange. Because of this, if you shoot a shockwave through a water bullet located infront of you, the shockwave will gain destructive force. But overall it is highly possible that the unstable vibrations of the water molecules have a high role to play in the shockwaves.
2) Of course not. The fact that we breath and swim underwater is an example of our combat skills, even while underwater. We still swim faster than any humans, akin to a transformed Kisame, and can go on forever without running out of breath. Further more, because Fishman Karate relies on water to propagate and increase the shockwaves, using FK underwater would make our techniques just as effective and in some cases also increase their power, depending on the technique. We can also, perform regular taijutsu underwater, as our mobility is not hindered, we are after all, fishmen. Although, keep in mind that using a taijutsu technique which uses fire would result in complete failure underwater, logic and reason still applies down there after all.
3) Not really. FK relies more than anything on shockwave enhancements, attacks, and defenses. Keeping that in mind, a shockwave doesn't have a chart in which we can know how it interacts with elements. Thus, it all depends on the technique used, however a regular FK Shockwave will most likely phase through elements, or otherwise be stopped by solid elements such as earth. The full interaction of elements and FK is not clear, as not even in OP has it happened, however i'll do my best to come into reason with this and let you know. Do know that there are FK techniques that can counter elemental projectiles with shockwaves though, so with that, we atleast know that shockwaves can come into contact and even repel ethereal or solid elemental techniques.

Correcto. While these are invisible to the eye, skilled onlookers can perceive the threat approaching them by seeing the changes in the environement. Although of course it depends on the location and aspects of your surroundings. For example in this gif, where a Fishman Karate technique is used, you can see the rubble being slowly but notably pushed backwards. Someone who catches onto this can realize something is coming forth, and then counter or deal with the situation appropiately. Also make sure to read through the answers I gave to leathercandle.

Okay! So, this seems like a pretty useful yet at the same time fairly simple attack. By gathering suiton chakra around my hand, I can chop at a water source, sending the water molecules from the source forwards towards my opponent, which can hurt them and shift them off balance. I have a couple of questions though. First, does my hand actually need to chop into the water source, or can I just send a chop towards it with a small shockwave from my hand, which in turn creates the larger one from the water? Also, the molecules which are moving are in the water still, aren't they? That means that if the opponent leaves the water source, they aren't affected, correct? One last question. Does this wavy effect on the water which causes the opponent to lose their footing effect the whole water source up to mid range, or just in a straight line from where the attack started?

So i channel water chakra into one of my hands using chakra control i further the manipulation on a molecular level as i perform a choping motion with the hand, manipulating the water molecules to create shock waves simultaneously which surge forward towards the desired target. If standing on water it will destabilize it momentarily creating an affect similar to the tremor from the doton jutsu.

How much is the user affected by the tremor if standing on water?

1) You don't need to chop the water directly. You chop forward and the water splits open because of the great power behind the shockwave. There is no small shockwave which creates a larger one, you simply chop forth and a large shockwave is released which both rips apart the water and causes a sea tremor. The shockwave moves through the molecules in the air, not the ones in the water itself, but it can be used underwater. So the target can be on ground, at the edge of the water and the shockwave will still strike, as it is not bound to the water source; it's effects simply allow us to rip that water open. It affects the entire area which is targeted by the shockwave, since it opens outwards the tremor naturally widens as well. But it doesn't affect the user, as it only happens infront of us.

You can perform it if so you wish, but I mainly want you to understand the technique and not just mimic it.

Good. And we aren't affected by it. And if for some reason we fall, we can breath and swim underwater for ages.

Once the shock wave connects, it will be difficult for the enemy to breathe normally for one turn, due to the impact. This palm trust is powerful enough propel large summon up to long range.

Basically same principle as the alst technique except this time i thrust my palm forward aiming at a desired location like the chest. through molecular manipulation channelled through the thrusting of the fist shockwaves are released that remain invisible to the naked eye unless dojutsu is used. The impact should make it hard for the opponent to breath if hit in the torso region, but also deliver considerable damage to bones and flesh.

Do clones elemental and non elemental gain gyjoin passive boasts?

Alright, so this technique seems really handy. By thrusting my palm forwards I can send a shockwave through the air using water molecules. It's capability to send the opponent and even their summons to far range could be very useful. It also is cool in the way that doujutsu users are the only ones which without intel can realize that a shockwave is nearing them. The effect which causes the opponent to have difficulty breathing also is very interesting. This is a technique which I can imagine myself using often, as there are a variety of special bonuses to it.

Question: if the user uses this and the shockwave makes contact with the opponent, will it always be enough power to send the opponent to far range or can the user control how far the shockwave can push the opponent back?
