Hm.
Sealing is basically writing up the kanji of a certain thing[ example baku for explosion on exploding tags ] and using other symbols to add power to the seal so that when the chakra is poured into it, it will activate

It depends. Some seals can be used only on short range, like the exploding seal - some have a wide area effect of, for example, sealing chakra, barriers etcetera.
