I will say right away that the theory is not mine, I liked it, and I decided to publish it here!

Ōtsutsuki(Urashimashiki) his name and his possible origins. As before the powers of these villains are often deferred from their tales and antics. To further emphasize my point I would review the story elements of Ōtsutsuki who have already been revealed and Draw parallels between their tales.

Kaguya Ōtsutsuki And The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter and the Moon Child

Kaguya Ōtsutsuki the main villain of Naruto Shippuden is a character based on Kaguya-hime of the Tale of Bamboo Cutter and Moon child fame. In that tale Kaguya-hime is from the “Moon”, she has been away since her clan was fighting in some celestial war and “they (her clan) would come back to retrieve her some day”.(A statement very reminiscent of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki’s past).

In the story Each of the five noblemen suitors are sent to retrieve five mystical objects respectively from different place respectively. She is also shown to become invisible leave earthly plane to run away from her lover the Emperor Mikado. She also later sends the “Elixir of Life” and a message to explain her true heritage and reason why she did what she did. In similar fashion Kaguya has very similar background story(the whole I am from the sky and they will come back for me thing), though towards the end the story is quite different. In the end she ends up killing her lover Emperor Tenji the change having been caused by death of her beloved maid Aino.

She Eats the forbidden Chakra fruit which gives her the immortality and is also very synonymous to the famed Elixir of life as well as her transportation Jutsu Amenominaka is very similar to her disappearing act. Also Her five dimensions are same in number and are parallel to the places-objects she asked her suitors to obtain.

Kinshiki Ōtsutsuki And The Lore of Kin-Taro

You must be registered for see images

In The tale of Kin-Taro their is a boy named Kin-taro on whom Kinshiki Ōtsutsuki is based. Kin-Taro in that story is said to be Beefy, tall and Extremely strong possessing neigh brutal force more than those of any animal in the forest. He is also user of “blades and Weapons” trained by his teacher Raiko and had befriended a “Monkey” in the Forest.

In similar fashion Kinshiki Ōtsutsuki is extremely strong enough to even overwhelm Sasuke Uchiha in Kenjutsu( art of Sword fighting) and is shown to be capable of using Bukijutsu using his tool creation technique. He can also form Monkey like Avatar (something Momoshiki inherited when he ate him).

Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki And The Lore of Momo-Taro

Again in The Tale of Momo-taro their is this boy named Momo-taro on whom Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki is based. Momo-taro was born from peach and loves to eat millet dumplings befriends a “pheasant”,” monkey” and dog on his way to fight the ogres in their city.

In similar Fashion Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki increases his power by the use of round pills (millet dumplings are very similar in this respect) uses the Fiery Bird: Pheasant hunter, Monkey Rock jutsu to fight. As you can see from above sections several powers of these villains are very much derived from the elements of their folklore. Even their physiology and unique elements pertaining to them stick to the actual characters in Naruto.

Powers Of Urashimashiki Ōtsutsuki based on the Lore of Urashima-Taro

Based on these patterns we could very well predict Urashimashiki’s powers. Since Urashimashiki Ōtsutsuki is based on Urashima-Taro, the tale revolves around the fisher lad named Urashima who rescues a young turtle from children who were playing with it. The boy sets the turtle free into sea and is given an invitation to visit the under sea palaces of the princess whose beloved turtle was rescued by our hero.

The boy visits the sea and lives for three years before returning to surface to meet his parents. The Princess gives him a gift before he leaves and makes him promise to never open the box. When he returns he realizes 300 years have passed and nothing remains, filled with despair he opens the box and he becomes old. The box had contained the old age of our hero all this while. (*the box was named tamatebako, might go on to be name of his technique).

(Urashimashiki’s Turtle Avatar)

Probably Urashimashiki is going to be mostly based on the water Release and the Turtle styled Jutsus. He might also have power over “time” or some kind of time control giving him necessary power to even beat our favorites heroes Naruto and Sasuke to dust And his very weakness perhaps might be some kind of box which when destroyed might result in his death. Their is also the connection between Time and Tide as in the famous “Time and Tide wait for no Man” Or the Japanese equivalent “Time flies like an Arrow”. Perhaps this might be the very connection between his powers over Time and Water though this remains to be a speculation.

You can choose a couple of items. The leader of Otsutsuki can manipulate time, he can be the first Otsutsuki and his death in some kind of box
Perhaps what we saw in Boruto was a stoppage of time

Are you sure its complete stuff?

In my previous threads I went on about the Third Ōtsutsuki(Urashimashiki) his name and his possible origins. As before the powers of these villains are often deferred from their tales and antics. To further emphasize my point I would review the story elements of Ōtsutsuki who have already been revealed and Draw parallels between their tales. But before I go on further with this thread here is the post from where this article has been drafted. This article contains the mention of the three stories Urashima-Taro, Kin-Taro and Momo-Taro the basis for iconic villains of Boruto The Movie. It also contains several details about omissions in the movies due to time constraints like Urashimashiki, Dialogue between Shikadai and Shikamaru etc.

I liked the theory. I was preparing another theory and coincidently, it had something to do with turtle island. I'll give you a clue; the connection between sakura and turtle island. So do you think it'll go like as said in the theory?
