I find both to be burdensome sometimes. Lovers want you to call them when they want to be called, spend time with them constantly, have *** when you're not in the mood, and get too easily upset when you don't tell them every little thing. People who are in love let their emotions rule their actions instead of there common sense and frequently act like morons.
Friends are less annoying, although they are not as reliable as the idiotic, hopeless romantic because they have other friends that they could choose over you and just aren't madly in love with you, so you don't come first in their life.
I guess I'd choose a lover that is smart enough to treat you as a friend rather than acting like you're a possession that belongs to them. < I get a lot of guys like that.

That's not always necessary ..........i choose friends coz friendships last long..coz love will work only if you will work it..while friendships is always by your side even you will not work it
