Chapter 7: On the verge of Twilight
Over the past few months I have been going on more and more missions. All A-rank and a few S-rank. Mostly hunting down insurgents, militants and missing-nin. Whenever I had the chance I would try to steal their powers with the vampire technique. At first I had to do all three stages seperatly and I could only steal Nature releases. But as I got more practice, I could steal jutsu and knowlege with one bite. Not only that, but I managed to steal not only Kekkei genki, but also hidden techniques, summoning contracts, a couple of genjutsu's and even one or two Kinjutsu. I was rather excited with my growth.
On one mission I was tracking down a rouge from the prestegious Nara clan. He gave me a good chase and being that we were in bright sunlight, he had the advantage. Finally, I trapped him and got him underground. The look on his face while I stole his jutsu was rather priceless. I couldn't kill him. I had to return him to the village. That was a problem. I couldn't let anybody know of my powers. Not yet. I cast a genjutsu barriar on him in the hopes he would forget and he did.
After that, I wasn't invited on missions anymore. Koden, Saimen and Ryuu sensei all went without me. Lord Hokage simply said he wanted to keep me in the village. Perhaps they were starting to catch on that most of my targets died before they could be returned. Whenever I walked about the village, I notice that somebody was following me. I used my reflection technique to see that it was anbu. This worried me.
One morning I awoke to the sound of pounding on the door to my house. Naturally, I went to answer it. The knocking came from two uchiha police and one Anbu agent.
"Kyuuketsuki Kagami?" one of the uchiha asked.
"Yes?"
"Lord Hokage wishes to speak with you on urgent business. Come with us," The Anbu comanded.
The men took to the Hokage mansion. I was surrounded by them. Whatever I was wanted for, they didn't want me to get away. They lead me into a dark room. Lord Hokage and his advisers were sitting at a table across the room, only visible by candle light.
"Kyuuketsuki, we have some rather disturbing news. Shikabaku Nara, the rouge you hunted down a few weeks ago. Has given us some rather disturbing information," one of the elders said. I kept cool and my face solid as iron, but I felt my stomach drop and my heart race. "He reports that you bit him and drained his blood, stealing a portion of his chakra and mind. He said you had him held down with glass and used a strange taboo jutsu on him. Can you explain?" The elder asked.
"Surely you don't trust a rouge, they will do anything to get out of trouble. Even through down a former comrade," I said calmly.
The other elder spoke up, "We thought it was a little odd ourselves. We had the medical shinobi examine him. They noted basic battle injuries. But some interesting finds came up as well. They noted wounds consistent with being held down by spears or rods, along with a glass like powder that results from glass being broken in battle. You are the only shinobi in the world to our knowlege that uses glass in battle. The wounds show signs of strugle, consistent with the victim being held down and tortured. But the most disturbing wound was the one on his neck, which appear to be fang marks."
"Like I said, a condemmed man will do anything. Perhaps he intended to frame me and injured his own body," I argued, gettiing worried.
"Never have I heard of such extreme measures. We also have one more piece of evidence. The victim claimed to have only remembered recently. Our intelligence team looked in and noted a broken genjutsu. They said that the genjutsu barriar could have only been cast recently before you returned to Konoha with the victim. We also found it interesting that the genjutsu used was developed by a militant that a few weeks ago you hunted down. You claimed that man died and his body was lost but gave little details. He wasn't the only man lost on your watch. Almost every single target that you had the responsiblity of hunting down died and their body was lost. Each time you came up with an excuse that didn't add up. I wonder that if we hadn't ordered for Shikibaku's safe return, if he might have shared the same fate. What do you have to say for yourself?" The elder asked.
"I have nothing to say but these charges are rediculous and that everything you just stated is mere coincidence," I replied. Lord Hokage stood up and began to speak.
"Kyuuketsuki, for multiple war crimes, acts of torture on defensless victims, insubordination, and worst of all, using a strange and unusual form of aggression on a shinobi of Konohagakure, I find you guilty of all charges and sentence you to hang by the neck until you die," he said.
"Is that your final verdict?" I asked.
"Yes it is my absolute final verdict."
"I see," I replied as I dropped low to the ground and spun on the ball of my foot to face the Anbu behind me. Before he could react I fired a massive wave of molten glass that consumed him. He screamed in agony as his body burned in the hot liquid glass. The Uchiha moved to capture me. "Earth style: tremedous impact shockwave!" I screamed as I punched the stone floor, the two men flew back. Lord Hokage moved to capture me. "Shadow strangle!" I screamed as I used the abilities I stole from Shikibaku. I ran out of the room and quickly turned my body into glass to become invisible. I heard anbu sensors following me. I had no choice. I dug underground and deep below their area of sensing.
Chapter 8: Battle Between Old Friends
I was on the run. I had no options. I had to leave the village and get away. But two problems stood in my way. There were still some techniques in this village that I needed to take in order to be sure that I could escape. The other problem was my team. They will hunt me down, and I can't take all three of them by myself.
"I guess, I am going to have to kill two birds with one stone then," I said as I arrived at my destination. I had dug directly under the Uchiha mansion. Right under Saiman's room. I used to do this all the time when we were dating. I would sneek in and spend time with her without her parents knowing. But I am not here to steal her heart. I'm here for a far better prize.
I pushed up the false floor slightly. I noticed she was suiting up. She was getting ready to hunt me down. I am sure Hokage has put out a red alert for my head. But now is my chance. I used the Nara hidden jutsu and sent a shadow out and connected it to hers. She was very surprised as I pulled the shadow and dragged her underground. I used earth release to seal off the exits. She stood up and looked at me, in surprise and anger.
"You are disgusting! Doing all those things you did, and then comming here. You have a lot of nerve," she said.
"I am here to take what I need from you."
"Good luck with that. Taboo jutsu or not, you cannot beat my sharingan."
"You will find out just how wrong you are," I replied. I could see her Sharingan in the dark.
"You lose now!" she screamed as she cast her strongest genjutsu. Symphony of the Night. She suddenly found herself unable to move. I moved closer to her to show that I turned my eyes into mirrors that reflected her genjutsu right back on herself. Her eyes turned dark and she began to scream. With a powerful twist she broke her own leg with a loud snap. She fell to the ground. She stood up and then pushed her arm against the wall until her elbow broke. She fell to the ground again, screaming in pain. Her eyes returned to normal.
"It was a mistake to program your genjutsu, once I reflected it on you, everything you planned to do to me, you did to yourself. Now sit still," I said as I threw her on her back. I activated Vampire mode. Keeping my eyes mirrored, I drew closer until I was stratling her. I leaned over her body and held my fangs to her neck. Suddunly she disipeared from under me. I looked around and I could not find her.
After a second she appeared behind me. Completely healed and her left eye slowly closing.
"I should have guessed that the great Sharingan master of her generation had the forbidden genjutsu up her sleave... Izanagi. But you made a mistake. With only one eye you can only use one of your mighty genjutsu and you only have one more try to get away!" I called out to her.
"You far underestimate me. I am the greatest sharingan master to ever live. Even Madara would bow to my power!" She yelled back at me.
"Why would the great Madara ever bow to you?"
"Because I am special. I am the genjutsu master of the Uchiha. My mastery is so great, that I defy even Izanagi!" She yelled as her closed eye suddenly opened and her sharingan was in tact.
"How?" I asked in amayzment.
"I am special, I can use Izanagi 5 times in each eye in one year without losing my light," She answered.
"Then that means that if you use it six times in one eye then you lose your light. Fine. That just means I have to pin you down 12 times. This should be fun," I said as I created a barriar around our battlefield.
"Indeed it will be, for me!" she answered as we faced off for what would be the final time.
