Basic Information  Name: Kuzan | クザン Nickname: Aokiji | 青雉 Gender: Male ♂ Age: 49 Clan: Yuki | Appearance Kuzan is an incredibly tall, slim and muscular man, standing well over 305 cm (10'0") tall. He has black, curly hair cut to chin length that fans out at the tips, tanned skin and an altogether lean, long build. As a child Kuzan had a grimace on his face. He wore a dirty light blue shirt and a purple pair of shorts with white stripes. He carried an umbrella tied on his back, a bottle of alcohol and a backpack. Also, his hair was curlier compared to his current hairstyle. In his youth, Kuzan would generally wear a white cap and a shirt. His standard outfit consists of a white buttoned-up vest with standing collar over a long-sleeved navy blue shirt and matching white trousers and black dress shoes, rarely accompanied by a matching suit jacket. He also wears a yellow tie divided geometrically by black lines and a sleep mask on his forehead. During his preparations for the war, Kuzan has a white coat (golden epaulettes and for him being the ice user, blue cuffs) draped over him like a cape. He also is seen wearing a green and purple sleep mask in nearly all of his past outfits. He has seemingly stopped this trait in the present. |
Twenty-two years ago (around the same time as the Kyuubi Incident in Konoha), Kuzan wore a dark blue bandanna with a white Kiri symbol on it, as well as a pair of black round sunglasses, as well as an indigo coat with the Kiri emblem on the left chest and the back. After time, he has since reverted back to a similar attire to what he wore in his 20's. He wears a blue bandana and a dark blue trench-coat along with black pants and a white deep V-neck shirt. He also now wears black cowboy boots and travels with a knapsack carrying his belongings along with his old pair of green round sunglasses. He has also grown facial hair, namely, a thin mustache and a beard. After an intense duel that lasted for 10 days and 10 nights, Kuzan received several burn scars spanning from the right side of his neck down to his entire right shoulder and onto his torso. His right hand is also heavily scarred. Personality Kuzan is a very laid back man, showing no shock or surprise from almost anything. His lack of interest and "Lazy Justice" (だらけきった正義 Darakekitta Seigi), as he describes his motto himself, often leads others to believe that he can not possibly be a ninja of such a high ranking. However, if he deems a situation worthy, he will take action. He appears to be the very benevolent compared to most other shinobi. He has a recurring phrase, "Arara", meaning "Oh, my", which is frequently used when something surprises him. Kuzan has a sense of honor, as he keeps his word to all, even his enemies. Kuzan's moral stance is unknown, but it is likely that he follows Moral Justice. He is disgusted by brutal actions in dealing with situations, calling those who use force fools. While he may follow Moral Justice, he does understand the position he was in as a villager of Kiri, as he does not hesitate to do what is necessary for the needs of the village, going so far as to attack missing-nin from his village. As a faithful follower of the justice, he always tried to follow orders but sometimes found his own ideals in opposition to said orders. Even as he followed his orders, he would sometimes exhibit a sense of mercy and honor that other village officials did not. Like many others, after witnessing the senseless murder of many innocent people, Kuzan may have come to realize the depths to which the any village, will sink to accomplish their goals. His relaxed demeanor while performing the more macabre of his duties makes him a complicated character. Despite not really wanting the position of Kage, he was even more opposed to his adversary getting the position, and dueled him rather than letting him take it. After being defeated, Kuzan chose to disbanded from the Hidden Mist. During the War, Aokiji grudgingly shredded his usual lax and friendly nature, for a more ruthless and aggressive personality, repeatedly targeting the enemies without end and generally hampering any attempts at rescue or escape for the invading enemy fleets. After time, Aokiji realized just how truly corrupt the world is. It becomes clear that Kuzan seems to be only looking after his friends, still looking out for his fellow villagers, but not being opposed to directly disagree with what his higher ups may say. "The thing called "justice" changes its shape... Depending on where you stand." |

 The Bloody Mist Kuzan was born in the Hidden Mist Village. Being a member of the Yuki Clan, Kuzan was immediately hated by all within the village after his birth. From his birth to his early childhood, he would go through the unfortunate event of running from others, isolating himself to stay alive. He and his family would constantly be on the move, hiding all traces of their Kekkei Genkai ability. On one fateful day, Kuzan, along with several other bystanders, were enjoying themselves in an outside gathering. While everyone was enjoying theirselves, Kuzan was laying down on the grass and relaxing against a tree. In the background, enemy village ninja were preparing themselves for an ambush. No one had seen it coming. It wasn't until it was too late. An innocent villager screamed in shout as they were stabbed by a kunai, instantly falling to their death. The spark started the explosion, and in no time, the entire area was set ablaze in chaos. People on both sides were falling to their death. Kuzan was mortified. He was so young, and he had already seen all the injustice in the world. He realized at that moment how he wished to be a warrior of justice. In order to reach his goal, Kuzan enlisted within the Training Academy. He realized what it took in order to be a strong warrior of justice. Despite his otherwise lazy demeanor, Kuzan would act seriously when necessary. He trained diligently, ensuring that he would be strong. When it came time to show it, he did what he had to. He killed all in his class, allowing him to move forward. His skills were revered and respected, allowing him to easily move up the ranks within the Hidden Mist. It was at this time when he openly showed that he possessed the Ice Release Kekkei Genkai. It was a perfect situation. The one thing that shunned him has since become his most powerful asset in striking fear. The Blue Pheasant During his time as an official of Kiri, Kuzan earned the title of Aokiji. Kuzan was respected and feared by others for his Ice Release. Despite this, Kuzan remained having a generally lax attitude about everything. He wasn't really interested in fighting, nor did he really want to. Many considered his lax attitude to only exemplify his fearsome power, as it showed how he did not have to put much effort to defeat people. Despite all this, many events during his time as a Hidden Mist Official were beginning to affect him. There was the one instant that made him constantly question his position. The Hidden Mist had forced an attack on an innocent clan. The clan was renowned for being the greatest scholarly group. The Hidden Mist feared the information they possessed and demanded the clan be exterminated. It was at this time, where Kuzan was truly questioning himself. A fellow Kiri shinobi, and friend of Kuzan, at the time had taken the side of the innocent clan. He befriended one of the clan's members and fought back against the Hidden Mist, stating that what they were doing was wrong. Kuzan had seen this and was hesitant to respond, and made an unfortunate mistake that he would regret forever. Following orders, Kuzan begrudgingly killed his friend and the exterminated the innocent clan. From that day forward, Kuzan questioned everything about the Hidden Mist's view of justice. It wasn't until he had come face to face with his former adversary for the title of Mizukage. Despite not wanting the position for himself, Kuzan definitely didn't want the other man to grab hold of the position. The two had a battle that lasted 10 days and 10 nights. The result was Kuzan losing the position and receiving several burns. It was then when Kuzan had officially left the Hidden Mist, becoming a warrior of justice on his own. Other Water Release After his training, Aokiji became well versed in Water Release jutsus. It was only natural for him to focus on it, considering his KG was based on water. After such time, Aokiji realized that he had a natural affinity towards Water. As such, he has developed his skills to a point where he only needs a single handseal to perform all Water Release jutsus. Lightning Release Besides Water Release, Aokiji also found that he had a natural aptitude for Lightning Release. Aokiji found that Lightning Release complimented Water Release very well, in addition to being a powerful nature release on its own. While not with as much experience as Water, Aokiji has proven to be extremely powerful in Lightning Release jutsus, being able to perform all Lightning Release jutsus that require handseals at a much faster rate. Taijutsu Part of the reason that Kuzan was so feared was his natural physical prowess. Combined with his already overwhelming appearance from being so tall, Kuzan was able to master Taijutsu with ease. After much practice and training, he has since become a master in close combat situations and is seen utilizing this form of combat in most of his battles. He generally uses his Taijutsu in conjunction with Ice Release. Kenjutsu Kuzan, being the gifted individual that he was, was naturally adept in the way of the sword. After much practice and training, he has since become a master of the sword and utilizes the sword in most of his battles. He is seen carrying around a saber along his waist, ready to be drawn at anytime. If he does not have a sword readily available, he can easily create one using Ice Release. Pictures
