The lightning element is one of the basic 5 element. Ninjutsu involving lightning element iscalled 'Raiton' or 'Lightning Release' or 'Lightning Style'.The Lightning style is prominent among theshinobis of Kumogakure. Lightning is strong against both earth and water because both are very good conductors of electricity. It can be used in conjugation with both earth and water(lightning dragon used by Mei and Ay) to increase the effectiveness. It can also be used with fire(sasuke uses fire jutsu to trigger up lightning
clouds and then use Kirin).

Weak against wind as it is a insulator of electricity.

Prominent Users: Hatake Kakashi, Uchiha Sasuke, Darui, 3rd Raikage.

Strong points

It can be used to keep the opponent at bay when being rushed, it can stun the opponent creating an opening for you and it can be used as diversion jutsu to distract your opponent buying to time to perform another attack.

Weak points

It's a temporary stun and not powerful enough to stop your opponent, it is a very obvious looking jutsu and can also be overpowered easily.

You Doing the jutsu.

I take my chakra and begin focusing down to the center of my hand, my thoughts are solemnly on making my chakra potent and sharp. As my chakra starts to vibrate at the immense concentration, I begin to intensify it so it begins generating heat. As I feel the warmth begin to happen, I start to hear a light "hissing" sound. I focus my shaping into more of a jagged nature while still increasing my intensity. My chakra begins to glow and flicker brightly as the hissing sound increases with it's heat. "Ha!" It stabilizes and I can feel all the energy in the palm of my hand, like a small ferocious piece of life. I then draw my arm back then rapidly release the seemingly tamed bolt of hissing bright lightning.

2. Not really something to be used often
3. Quite Weak without to much damage

I could use one of my Water jutsus ((Suiton: Mizuame Nababara) - Water Style: Starch Syrup Capture on the Field to spread to a medium range if the target is far away then activate the jutsu so the water will conduct it towards the enemy

Simply jumping in the air during its time duration or Futon Techniques

I walk up to Short range of your clone I start to gather Raiton chakra into the palm of my hand I raise my hand high up into the air and slam down with a strong amount of force, it cracks the ground and sends lightning shockwaves through the ground that electrify the Clone and it puffs into smoke.

I walks over towards your clone at medium distance. I close my eyes and start pushing Raiton chakra onto my left hand. I then begins to wave at the clone as if saying hello and 3 lightning bolts form on my first 3 fingers proceeds to shoot at the clone they hit the clone and it explodes into smoke.

- Can be used from short to long range, making it an excellent technique to use at any distance. -
- Capable of hitting multiple targets -
- It can avoid obstacles -

Weak points

- Requires 3 hand seals
- D rank wind can overpower it

Combinations-strategies

I could use Earth Release: Earth Flow River to make my apponent lose his balance and then I'd attack him with Lightning Release: Electric Attack.

Ways to counter this technique

I believe that Wind Release: Great Break Through would be enough to counter it. I chose it because of same range.

You Doing the jutsu

I start by doing the Tiger > Snake > Dog hand seals, I then focus my chakra in my hands and by using nature manipulation I change it into lightning chakra. Then by using shape manipulation I release an an electric current in the direction of the dummies , hitting them straight on and making them disperse.

Strong points

- No hand seals required
- increase of damage when used in conjunction with a water jutsu -
- Can be used to destroy incoming earth techniques that use rocks and debris as attack -

Weak points

- It's short range
- It's a good technique but because of its rank it won't be helpful against higher ranked jutsus, which is a shame

Combinations-strategies

I could use a water based attack such as Water Release: Powerful Blasting Rain Trench to combine it with and attack my enemy causing more damage.

Ways to counter this technique

I could use Wind Release: Great Break Through to counter the lightning based technique and change it's direction back to my enemy.

You Doing the jutsu

I notice your clone and I begin by concentrating my Raiton chakra and I then push it into my hands. There I begin to quickly gather my chakra by continuously channeling a steady stream to that point. I then focus the chakra out of my hands and simultaneously use nature manipulation to transform it into lightning. By doing so I release a wave of electricity that I direct through the ground towards you clone, were upon reaching him it shocks him through his feet. Then I continue to pour in more of chakra and starts tearing up the ground around him and it even rips through a solid rock. Shaking your clone and making him disperse.

Basically release your lightning chakra so that it surrounds you. As the name is, its a lighting armour similar to the raikage's but it doesn't give you any sort of power of speed boosts like the raikage's.

However, this is extremely location-based and needs to be done uphill of a mountain for it to work.

Once near or under a cliff or in a cave, you string up the required hand seals and channel your lighting chakra around you. Clap your hands to spread it around to send a harmless electrical surge around the cliff/cave to cause the rocks to fall down, basically a cave in

I believe that the Lightning Strike Armour would be ideal to fight in close combat with. Giving you an advantage even against a taijutsu master. Or you can use Water Style: Water Dragon Whip to make a water/lightning whip out of it and attack your enemy.

Ways to counter this technique

Because it's so close to the users body, I could use Water Release: Gushing Water Imprisonment to imprison him, so that his own armour will cause him major damage.

You Doing the jutsu

To begin I concentrate my Raiton chakra and I then channel it throughout my body evenly. I them begin to gather my chakra, quickly building up a significant amount which should be more than enough for this technique. I then emit the chakra into the air from all over my body, as it leaves I use nature manipulation to transform it into lightning. I then form this lightning into an electric field that is quite close to my body. your clone who was trying to punch me, gets electrocuted.

- It is an extremely location-based and needs to be done uphill of a mountain for it to work.

Combinations-strategies

While the stones are falling down you can make a clone use Fire Release: Falling Fire Scatter to make "lava" balls which would increase the damage they deal on the enemy.

Ways to counter this technique

I could use Earth Release: Underground Projection Fish Technique to hide from the incoming rocks. Meanwhile I can think about my next move.

You Doing the jutsu

I start by concentrating my Raiton chakra and I then push it into my feet. There I begin to build up my chakra, quickly amassing a significant amount which should be more than enough for this technique. I then focus my chakra at the bottoms of my feet and I take off running up the cliff face. As I do this I perform the Snake → Upside down Tiger hand seals and finally clap my hands together, holding them there. I then focus my stored chakra out of the bottoms of my feet and as I release the chakra I use nature manipulation to change it into lightning. By doing so I create small bursts of lightning that crack and dislodge rocks from the cliff face. These rocks then fall down towards your clone, where upon hitting him they do enough damage to make him disperse.

I could use Wind Release: Vacuum Slash technique to stop Lightning Strike Horn Technique because I can create multiple blades of wind to counter the multiple attacks trying to hit clones.

You Doing the jutsu

I start by concentrating my Raiton chakra. I then channel my chakra into my right hand, there I start to quickly gather my chakra. Building up a significant mass in a short amount of time. I then raise my hand and focus my built up chakra, once I do so my hand beings to glow a pale yellow. I then release the chakra forwards from my hand, as it leaves I use nature manipulation to transform it into lightning. Once the lightning is formed I use shape manipulation to form it into a large horn shape, this horn then reaches your clones and decimates the area, causing the entire group to disperse.

I would use Wind Release: Vacuum Blade because a wind technique has the advantage over a lightning one.

You Doing the jutsu

I draw my sword and I begin by concentrating my Raiton chakra and I then push it into my sword through my hands. In there I begin to gather my chakra by channeling a continuous stream up from my gut. Then I focus the stored chakra and by using nature manipulation I create a strong current of electricity through the blade which increases its cutting potential, I also focus my chakra to cause the blade to levitate in the air in front of me. I then focus my chakra once again and I create two exact duplicates of my sword that levitate in the air on either side of the original. I then cause the blades to spin, slowly at first but picking up speed quickly until they are spinning quite rapidly. I make the two outside blades spin vertically and the middle horizontally. I then send them towards your clone, keeping theyre rotation going as they near him. Once they reach him they slice him in two, making him disperse.

Ways to counter this technique

I could use Wind Release: Hardliner Gale Chop to break the ground at mid distance so that the lightning loses it trajectory. or I could use Wind Release: Wind Stream Technique to evade the ground. and maybe move to mid distance if I'm close range.

You Doing the jutsu

I start by concentrating my Raiton chakra and I then channel it into my right hand. There I start to gather my chakra, quickly building up a mass of chakra that should be more than enough for this technique. I then focus the chakra around my hand and jump into the air, crossing into short range of your clone while in the air. I then land on the ground and slam my hand, releasing the chakra and using nature manipulation to transform it into lightning. By doing so I create powerful bolts of electricity that surge through the ground towards your clone, shocking him and mking him disperse.

I would use make a clone which could use Water Style: Water Shock Wave to make water vortexes which collide with the wall of electricity and then continue stronger in the direction of my opponent.

Ways to counter this technique

I would a wind jutsu higher in rank with a wide range, such as Wind Style: Pressure Damage to take down the wall and keep attacking my opponent at the same time.

I being by concentrating my Raiton chakra and I then emit it into the air in front of me. I then begin to build up my chakra there by channeling a continuous stream until I have gathered a sufficient amount for the technique. I first form the Ox hand sign, then I raise my arms in front of me and simultaneously use both nature and shape manipulation to first transform my gathered chakra into lightning and then form it into a wall in front of me that protects me from the incoming earth technique your clone clone performed. I hurry to perform the same technique as I notice your clone trying to hit me with kick. making him fly back and causing him to be paralyzed.

I then begin to build up my chakra there by channeling a continuous stream until I have gathered a sufficient amount for the technique. Then I raise right fist in front of me and simultaneously use both nature and shape manipulation to generate a sphere of pure lightning around my hand. I hit your clone with it, causing an explosion of electricity. Sending him back hurt and paralyzed.

Description: After doing the Rabbit → Dog → Boar → Ram → Rat hand seals, the user generates a large amount of lightning from their hands, which can then be either released in an unfocused manner or passed through conductive materials to improve the electrical power of the technique, namely in conjunction with Water Techniques. In fact, certain users have showed that its possible to, if the user has the ability to mold both Water and Lightning chakras at the same time (for example, Darui who has Storm Release), unleash this particular technique at the same time as they exhale/spit some water technique (which needs to consist of a stream of water), combining both in a seemingly consecutive move. Other ninjas will need to use a clone or an ally for the same effect.
