Kurenai's Genjutsu is almost on Par with Itachi's (naruto wiki) and even with his sharingan, kakashi got caught..so i dont think that his sharingan, genjutsu wise would make a difference:

dont listen to a shit naruto wikia says, read that chapter again, itachi told her her genjutsu was weak, and it wont work on him
