I saw this theory at another forum and found it more than interesting. I found it quite plausible, actually, and decided to share it for discussion, to see what you think about it.
Someone (can't remember who, at Narutoforums) said because of the romanization of Bible being biburu (the way it's pronounced), being similar to the word Vivre, that the pages of his bible were all vivrecards for many individuals and places. It could also work as a pun of the word "Biblical". Either way, if that's the case, he could keep track of many important places he's visited. And we're talking about someone who kept a low profile; he was a revolutionary, and became a shichibukai. You can't underestimate the ability he must have to gather information. Specially with access to the Revolutionary Army and the World Government info network.
It also explains why he's carrying a Bible around, remember Oda never leaves anything without explanation, everything is there for a reason. Also, as a kid, he didn't have his DF powers and he wasn't carrying the Bible. Coincidence? Possibly, but still peculiar. (He was drawn by Oda as a kid along with the other shichibukai in a SBS)
If the Vivrecard theory is correct, he would have known exactly where to send the Straw Hats and Perona; Luffy to an island where he could learn haki, Perona to a creepy island with an equally creepy castle, Zoro to a place where he can train his swordsman skills, Robin to an island about to be attacked by the RA, and so on...
aaaaaaaaaand go! What do you think?
