It's completely wrong, and i mean completely.
Kakashi said it himself when the team first encountered Itachi, that if he cast one genjutsu on one of the team members the other two had to attack Itachi to break his genjutsu as he would be vulnerable at that point because he was focusing on the illusion.
His mind was battling anothers mind leaving his body vulnerable, people on here just don't get how genjutsu works.

I do agree that genjutsu is misused on nb pretty often. It's part of how we misuse a lot of things, though. NB tends to look at what the most powerful users of a technique are capable of, and then assume that everyone, including non-specialists, are capable of performing the same technique to the same magnitude.

Edit: a perfect example of this is itachi and his genjutsu. Itachi was the king of genjutsu. There is no reason to assume that anyone asides from a Kurama could come close to his ability with genjutsu.

Genjutsu is just cheap, thats why i made a Nekura as my secondary, anyone i know to be a scummy genjutsu person will just fight my joker bio.

Everyone can, but most people just go with it, they know it's OP and they need to swim with the tide to stay above water.
Thats why they are scrubs, they make stuff they know is in fashion so to speak to attempt to become stronger rather than being themselves and doing there own thing.

But anyway i have spoken about this issue to Caliburn in depth, as i know it's pointless taking it to mods.
He assured me he will be reworking genjutsu some day soon.

I'll share the way that I devised to deal with that technique, though it has to wait until whenever you next update your bio. Simply add a note somewhere that, for some reason, your character never dreams/remembers dreaming. I'd imagine this would only work on a custom bio, though. Then it's easy to recognize as a genjutsu as it's something that wouldn't normally happen. :3

Nope, you can't get away with that anymore. Why do you think that it takes so much for Caliburn to check all those biographies? It's because he has to read through each damn biography, every single corner of it. If he finds shit like that, he just removes it without you even knowing, or if he's decent enough he might point out, but honestly I wouldn't. If you were an ass to try and get something like that, you better get what you deserve when you find that you don't have that "sneaked" in ability when needed.

Also about the genjutsu. You see, Lili has NB Genjutsu mastery so she can perform genjutsu with simple body movements instead of handseals. Plus her handseals for genjutsu are 5/1, meaning she can perform 5 handseals for genjutsu when any other person could perform one. So, I disagree with Howards move and I'm pretty sure Lili will and should argue that, which is what she does best.

Now, is NB Genjutsu overpowered? Probably yeah, but you got do brown that nose a lot to get that shit. That's why someone got NB Genjutsu permission in a village tourney and Scorps denied it, because he gives that just to whom he deems worthy. It was best shown in the 1st GRPT tournament, where he actually evaluated your use of genjutsu. In application threads it's not that easy unless you're known across the base as a good genjutsu user.

The whole alliance with Amegakure has been obviously stalled until they see what happens with Kirigakure. If they got it they would probably ditch us, and now that they're ass****ed they'll probably beg us. I dislike the whole situation in the NW right now, as it's very confusing, and I'm brainstorming through that shit all day, who's with him, and what are the possible outcomes. I know everyone wants some fun, and that the tavern is boring, but you gotta keep yourself at bay and be prepared. As soon as the slightest chance comes up, we will take it, as I don't want to turn out like a ***** and get into as much alliances as possible. So far Kirigakure and Kumogakure were our enemies and it will stay so. Sunagakure wants an alliance but if they are with Kumograkure (they are) I don't want that. They're cocky arrogant and they smell badly. We will keep calm and watch the mindgames from the shadow and turn out as the evil clown when the time comes.

Pump your energy and collect it when needed. If you still got too much then go to the arena and fight random noobs. Also, I won't hesitate to remove you from the WG spot if you try something that will put the village in a bad position.

If that is indeed the case, that's pretty lame. Why is it that a common thing such as rarely remembering your dreams disallowed? Is it really any different than noting that you character is particularly flexible/a contortionist? Or is that disallowed as well because being a contortionist would make it easier to deal with certain abilities as well? Not being able to remember your dreams is actually pretty common. Hell, unless it's a particularly vivid nightmare, I never remember my dreams unless I go to bed with the intention of dreaming. I would say that it's perfectly fair to put a detail like that in a bio, as it's certainly not something that is unreasonable.

Or is that disallowed as well because being a contortionist would make it easier to deal with certain abilities as well? Not being able to remember your dreams is actually pretty common. Hell, unless it's a particularly vivid nightmare, I never remember my dreams unless I go to bed with the intention of dreaming. I would say that it's perfectly fair to put a detail like that in a bio, as it's certainly not something that is unreasonable.

Just use that logic in the battle to break the genjutsu, it doesn't need to be in your bio for you to use it.

Well, I do trust you about that one. The forbidden elemental shit is just insane and not fair because 99% of people won't have a way to counter it. Not only is that a huge disadvantage but most people don't even get how gen works thus why they always avoid it and don't even know how to counter "regular", let alone something like that. Yeah, he probably had that in mind, **** **** it who wouldn't. You dedicated your life to something, why not leave a trace of it. And since you're leaving it, why not make it massive. Just like a giant elephant roaming through the safari. His giant dump will let others know he was there, right?

If you ask me, it somewhat of a passive ability that gives you an advantage. Now that advantage is small as it's targeted at a particular technique, but still it's an advantage. This whole situation wouldn't be such dramatic if people didn't try to get shit in their biographies. I remember Cali saying that a dude put a random sentence in the middle of his history, that he's able to perform all elements without handseals, or something like that. It caught his attention and now he's looking for that.

It's the same with the morons that wear sunglasses. Ok, yeah it's sunny, go **** yourself. Why would you be able to be unaffected by a flashbomb just because you wear glasses? That's just ridiculous.

Indeed, i just wish that i hadn't suggested he co-create it with Scorps, because now and no offense to Scorps it seems monopolized, one day soon Empy boy will come online on MSN and when he does i'm going to be having words, because to me everytime i see it, it's just some scrub misusing it, Igneel, Erzo, Lili.
They all just use it to beat people through arguements and thats it, there is no skill involved, it's just doing something unfair.

Hopefully he will listen to reason and put a few nerfs on it, or Cali will rework genjutsu to be fair once more.
