NB genjutsu is overpowered, i should know i was the first to hear about it, i spoke to emp on MSN about developing it, i was the one who suggested he approach Scorps to help him as Scorps liked gen.
Emp and me used to laugh about the overpowered genjutsu he already had approved, he said thats how he wanted to be remembered, as the guy who made OP genjutsu, thats what made him want to make NB gen, he knew all the tricks to get OP stuff approved.
And hear we are a couple months down the line, i bet Emp is giggling in his virtual grave.

Thats the opposite of a good move, she simply attacked when he could not reply.

I'll share the way that I devised to deal with that technique, though it has to wait until whenever you next update your bio. Simply add a note somewhere that, for some reason, your character never dreams/remembers dreaming. I'd imagine this would only work on a custom bio, though. Then it's easy to recognize as a genjutsu as it's something that wouldn't normally happen. :3

It's easy to break if you do it as an in theory thing, i can break it myself, it's just a scummy move, its the swamp or gushing water of NB gen. xd

If it was as simple as casting a genjutsu and attacking Itachi would be undefeatable, any uchiha would.
Genjutsu on NB is a shallow attempt to stop someone replying thats all.

In fact the only genjutsu in memory that has been used to paralyse so the user can attack is the shackling spikes used by the uchiha.

I do agree that genjutsu is misused on nb pretty often. It's part of how we misuse a lot of things, though. NB tends to look at what the most powerful users of a technique are capable of, and then assume that everyone, including non-specialists, are capable of performing the same technique to the same magnitude.

Edit: a perfect example of this is itachi and his genjutsu. Itachi was the king of genjutsu. There is no reason to assume that anyone asides from a Kurama could come close to his ability with genjutsu.
