Thanks for voicing your concerns. Yes, these requirements were originally set high because the Phase 3 rewards would have compensated players fairly enough for all that effort. In addition, there would be NPC actions that help or slow down progress for the Factions. We might not get to see this based on current activity, though. Also, with the idea of making Objectives submit-able, I could definitely lower the bar for progress.Personally, I'm having a little difficulty parsing the whole storyline. Just from looking at it, it's interesting enough, the missions presented so far come off as some basic tower defense style of game. The ability to choose sides with the Freehold or fighting hordes of CoT with the Amputation are fine additions to the game. This is my understanding of the game so far.
However, I do find the game presented in its state to be too ambitious, given the number of players currently participating or wanting to partake in it. For example, killing 3,000 CoT to progress the Amputation story seems a little out there given that an S-Rank mission would equate to 20 of them. Assuming that people actively partake in these S-Rank missions, that's still 150 missions that need to be completed for the Amputation to progress its storyline. It seems very unattainable to me, given the purpose of this NW arc is to become reacquainted with the mechanics of the game.
And yea, the story is massive as ****. It's why we wanted this Flashback Arc in the first place. It's meant to be a rest stop for players who are new or returning to the story to sort of catch their breath and reacquaint themselves with the NW. Again, by the looks of it I may have to do make some drastic changes to this formula. People don't like rehashing old events :/
