How does one tell the difference?

Raw chakra is like a surge, like an explosive blast of unshaped chakra. Think something like a DBZ chakra powering up.
Advanced chakra involves shape manipulation and/or nature manipulation. EG a Rasengan is advanced because of the shape manipulation.
There arent many other canon examples of raw chakra techniques or advanced ones as they all mainly about weapon usages, but I hope you get the idea
