Part Two is finally here!

Ch 5
Hours went by as they laid together on the grass. The sun floated down beyond the tips of trees on the edge of the field and Naruto breathed deeply. “S-Sakura…,” paused, “Hinata…, “ and he hugged them both close to him. All that had happened between them had meant so much, but he knew it could not last forever. He thought about the day, about the fear and pain of losing his loved ones and the flood of emotion upon seeing the two he loved most. He thought about the agony of war and the desire to kill that drove him in Kyuubi form. And Naruto remembered his father … Yondaime Hokage. “All parents believe in their children…” The words echoed in his mind and his thoughts turned back to the village.
Naruto began to sit up, brining both of his partners with him. The ground was soaked beneath them and smelled of perspiration and crushed grass. He looked down as if unsure how to go on. Everything to this point had been natural -- off-the-cuff. After the pain and exhaustion of battle, to suddenly be together again with those you love-- Naruto felt a great burden had been lifted. But with reality and their duties looming still, he knew they must get back.
“I suppose…” he hesitated for a moment, “the villagers will be looking to me for direction now. . . I should probably go,” and he stood, sliding his shirt over his back, the cloak under his other arm as he went.
Sakura tried to speak as Naruto turned toward the village, but was stopped by Hinata, who now put her finger to Sakura’s lips. “He’s right. We should all get back. There’s no sense in staying out here forever.” Sakura looked at Hinata with mild confusion. Hinata smiled and blushed. “I … enjoyed being with you too, Sakura, but eventually all good things end.” Sakura grinned slyly, nodded and stood with her. The two donned their clothes and set off after Naruto headed for their camp.
As they moved through the tall grass, the lights of torches blazed ahead, illuminating the camp. And behind them they left the remains of their childhood to take up the responsibility of leadership.
Yet they had no idea that in the distance, far across the Land of Fire, another group intertwined with their destiny moved towards Konoha.
Ch 6
A smooth, clear voice summoned from his mouth and Karin could not resist. “Yo. Karin…” Sasuke spoke with a confidence that amazed her. “It’s starting to get dark, we need to move by night in order to go unnoticed,” he paused, “We’re almost there.”
“BRILLIANT!” She exclaimed. At which Suigetsu began to choke from his laughter.
“Is that … the best you can do?” he said, out of breath from amusement. “I mean, for someone who obviously loves him as much as y—“
Before he could finish, Karin swung, putting a fist deep in his cheek. “Take that, you ugly monstrosity!” She swung again, this time a poisoned kunai in her fist. “I ought to just end this right no-“ From out of the air, Sasuke appeared behind her, clutching her arm without taking an extra breath.
“I can’t have that, now” Sasuke said calmly. “I’ve told you I need you both for this. Now put yourselves back in order and let’s move. Konoha is just over the next hill. Scouts may be anywhere. Suigetsu –“ he called.
“Yeah, what do you need? “ Suigetsu said, rather bored.
“The ground is still wet from the last rain. Use your water clones and scout out the path ahead. Stay as low as you can.” Sasuke commanded.
“You want water clones, eh?” Suigetsu smirked. “No problemo,” and quickly called, “Hitsuji! Mi! Tora! Water Style – Water Clone Jutsu!” As his hands flashed in front of him, several streaks of water went out from his feet like snakes along through the wet grass ahead.
Sasuke looked mildly pleased. “Good. Now let me know if you spot any trouble. Let’s move.” As they moved into the trees, there was a noticeable silence. Not just the lack of their own sound, but silence in the forest that only Sasuke noticed. He raised his right hand and they all stopped. In the trees, Sasuke wondered how much damage had Pein caused? Madara had told him Pein would retrieve Naruto… How could it be any other way? This was Naruto after all… Sasuke’s only friend and yet now his only regret was that he’d not taken Naruto’s life sooner. Surely that would have been a better way to die than to have his soul extracted as water squeezed from a cloth.
But this silence concerned him. What if, in the process of capturing the Kyuubi, Pein had destroyed the village? His face became red, he opened his eyes wide and frowned deeply. “Then I will find every last survivor and exterminate them!” Sasuke muttered to himself.
As Sasuke stared, a water droplet formed on a leaf in front of him. Suigetsu’s head began to materialize upside-down in the water and grew to near full size. Then it spoke, “Yo, boss-man. We gonna move anytime soon or maybe you just wanna stay here and catch the breeze?”
Sasuke was livid and his voice growled with anger. “Tell me as soon as you spot anyone – whether they are ninja or not.” Without another word, Sasuke started again moving forward from tree to tree with a quiet grace.

Meanwhile, in Konoha, the villagers secured their tents as Naruto again reached camp. “Oh?” Naruto looked up and saw gray clouds marching in from the east. “Looks like another storm is moving in.”
