In this series, the Devil Fruits don't dissolve once consumed. Once the fruit hits the stomach, and the acid starts to dissolve it, the power of the fruit is granted to the eater. However, the fruit is never fully dissolved, as when the user dies, the fruit remains after the body decays. This allows for someone else to eat the fruit, and for the cycle to continue. Consumers of the devil fruit gain the personality of previous eaters, and at random this personality appears.

?I?m looking for a guy named Orochimaru? anybody seen him around?? a white haired ninja loudly asked. He was surrounded by people who dyed their hair white, and it appeared as though he was their leader. They all wore white cloaks, with flames going down the side. No one paid any mind to the man, as he looked around for answers. ?No, hmm guess I?ll have to keep searching.? He turned, but was stopped abruptly when he saw someone in his way. ?Excuse me kid, but move out of my way? I?m an important man that has a lot of business to attend to.? He said, sticking his nose in the air. The kid paid no mind to him, and said ?Who are you guys?? The man looked insulted, and turned around to his comrades. ?Kid doesn?t know who we are? guess we?ll have to break it down to em.? He started doing an extremely complicated dance, and finally exclaimed ?I am Jiraiya, Leader of the White Flame Squad!? He flashed a smile at the kid, whose mouth was agape. Jiraiya turned to his crew, and said ? Kid must be shocked to be in my presence.? Naruto in turn laughed, and said ?That had to be the lamest thing I?ve ever seen!? ?It was then that I learned what a Ninja was? I saw the power I could obtain to save my village, my country.? Naruto continued. ?He was a wanted man, worth 200,000,000 Beli at the time.? He boasted, as him and Sasuke crossed a bridge into a town. ?He taught me all sorts of ninja techniques, and kept on going through our village from time to time.? Naruto said, reminiscing. Finally, one day he stopped by at my house. ?I?m no longer visiting here anymore? I?m retiring.? He started. ?But? why Jiraiya? you haven?t even caught Orochimaru yet!? Naruto said, fighting the tears that were forming in his eyes. ? You?ll understand why I?m not chasing him in time to come? other opportunities are knocking on my door, and I must answer them!? Jiraiya finished. He looked back, and flicked something back at Naruto. ?Keep this piece of paper!? he said. ?It?ll allow us to one day meet again.? Naruto looked at the paper, and made a vow to himself. I will become strong enough to meet you someday? "Since then, I've prepared myself to become strong enough to do this." Naruto said raising his hands outwards. Sasuke snorted, and said "You have a lot of ambition... lets rest here for the night." They unpacked at a clearing in the woods, and Naruto made 10 clones. "Well, we need a fire going so go and find some wood..." He instructed. They split out into different directions, while Sasuke, and Naruto set up a tent in the clearing. All of a sudden, Naruto knew something was wrong. "My clones are dissapearing one by one.." He said curiously. He closed his eyes, gauging the distance that the intruder was at. "He's getting closer, my clones are dissapearing extremely fast!" He exclaimed. Suddenly, they heard rustling in at the edge of the clearing. Sasuke drew out his sword, and yelled "Who's there?" The clearing was suddenly filled with an evil laugh, and the voice croaked out "Prepare... for your DEATH!"
