Ya hiruko usually is a downside .. which is why i never really take him into consideration .

before Sakura completely crushed the Hiruko puppet.
The mountin jutsu isn't that fast, he can shield himself with Iron Sand or with his fodder puppets. Or he can escape it just like he escaped from Sakura's punch.

Yes the jutsu should work and kill Sasori but I doubt Kitsuchi would use his strongest jutsu right off the bat. Sasori wins if they're IC

IIRC didn't sakura's punch destroy the iron sand? Could be wrong. Anyways, the mountain crusher was holding the demonic statue which I assumed was a powerful feat. I could be wrong. Idk.
