Overall i would say the heat of the Lava is far too high for electricity to be conducted along it efficiently.

Well actually pure lightning strikes with a temperature of anywhere from 50,000F-55,000F where as lava has a typical range of 1,000F-2,200F. And seeing as Darui's Storm release is creates sustainable energy beams, i would assume its temperature would be close to that. So in reality it would be like Sasuke's lightning cutter on steroids cutting through Roshi's armor like butter.
